Yeah man, no doubt I had a few holes in that drawing’s color. The thing I was trying to pull off was sort of the “Akiman” approach where colors seem simplistic, yet the drawing itself could come off as real.
It’s an odd technique I was working on, it’s not the practical “choose colors and paint” sorta thing. It’s more focused on covering composition and modifying colors afterward, which is the tricky part. It seemed to work at first with the contest entry drawing, but the Magiranger one came out a bit odd. I AM glad it’s not hue-heavy like the gunner and others but at the same time… it’s bleh.

you need to tone down the highlights on the arms a tad man. And mass the shadows more. Right now the muscles on the arms look like detached and independant forms. Got everything down though. DOpe ass pic too. Ryu better charge that shit up fast. I thought you die!
