PowerUp 2010 and Raging Storm: Ohio - Cincinnati, OH - May 28-30

And by soon I meant the same day! It’s actually an MKIV until I swap out the board when it arrives. UMK3 arcade tourney at PowerUp 2010!

Sweet! UMK3 can be one of the cabinet tourneys for sure. I know people will dig that stuff. I was thinking of having one cabinet tourney per day, Jesse, depending on how many people are showing up.

What day would you want to run UMK3?

Somewhere on the Internet, Tim Static is reading this post, and crying tears of joy.

You can pick the day Nathan. I don’t think it matters too much which cab game on any day.

That unexpected board came in today! HAKUTO NO KEN (Fist of the North Star). Are there enough players in the Midwest for an HNK arcade tourney at PowerUp 2010?

definitely looking too see this umk3 hype first hand. :woot:

yo Q, I must of caught that Anna joke late…

I betcha my Anna > Yours. And I HATE T6 (save for a different thread lol).

LOL @ Keits, “WTF Anna” joke.

GOOD TIMES TO COME!!!

Nathan, I’ll be a callin u tommorow. :china:

EPIC EDIT: YO THANKS OSIRUN FOR DA SSBB AVATARS!!!

Nathan: I answered your question in regards to T6 Team Tournament over at TZ.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Any interest for kof98um / kof2k2um? Thinking about running them…I dunno anything about the time/space constraints. I have a laptop and can run the tourney(s) myself, though 98um will be many times easier since it’s on a modern system, at least if 2k2um isn’t on XBLA by then.

HNK sounds pretty sweet

Even if I don’t play in an HNK tourny I will definitely be checking it out for casuals!

@Dandy J: We may already have an SNK presence at PU2010. Details to come.

@DR4GO: Ah, I see exactly what you mean. I think the only problem would be that having the teams play best 2/3 sets could be too time consuming. I can’t know for sure until pre-reg is opened up for the team tournaments, but there may just not be enough setups available on Friday for best 2/3 sets. Best 2/3 per individual team member matchup, and then 3/5 and 4/7, would be just fine, though. It’d just be one set.

That was how I had intended to run the team tournaments in order to make sure they finish on time Friday.

Nathan I am still in Chicago, sorry about Tuesday. Any chance u can hop on AIM?

I feel you about time and system constraints Nathan. Maybe because it is teams we can do less sets. So a normal match with be one set, winners and losers will be best 2 out of 3 and Grands will be best 3 out of 5?

Dandy J: I am down for a KOF 98: UM but it will probably be a side tournament. We have some KOF players coming so we might get a decent crowd. Hopefully I will have it on my Xbox360 by then as well.

pP

ok cool if anything does happen with kof i have a 360 with it that i can bring

I will only be out for Saturday. Maybe 3s and HNK sides could happen then?

Michigan will be there

I’m down for 3s as always.

thanks

cool Osirun lemme know or drop me an email: conchair@aandgohio.com

Sorry about the long delay Webster. I just left you a voicemail. I was on vacation and didn’t have access to a computer from last Wednesday til now.

That would be a great help Phil. I think this could also work with all the other team tournaments as a blanket rule for how the sets will go.

Awesome! I will be replying to your pm shortly as well.

I will change 3S and HnK to Saturday.

Expect to hear from me or another TO for PowerUp in the next few weeks or so. Thanks!

I’m ready to do some jaguar kicks or throw rocks, hopefully SSF4 is out in time.

I’ve added a poll to the thread asking the community’s opinion on how close the release of SSFIV or BB:CS would have to be to PU2010 before we would decide not to run them simply because people would not have time to practice. The time specified in the poll is release of the games one month before PU2010.

I’d really appreciate everyone’s feedback on this. To be clear, even if we don’t choose to run SSFIV or BB:CS due to release that is too close to PU2010, we will still have a side area for these games and probably side tournaments. I just can’t see anyone agreeing to put a lot of money on the line for a game that they have yet to considerably practice. But, that’s my opinion, hence why I’m asking all of you!

My opinion would be to have SSF4 even if it comes out only a couple of days before.
