nathan i just wanna let you know that, to me at least, the 5v5 just went from an exciting awesome idea to a joke. im still excited to play all the other states tho cuz i know they at least tried to make their teams.

@Keith: The Illinois Team also wouldn’t have any kind of qualifying tournament, but I still see your point.
i never had a problem with a 6th team i just think if there is gonna be an additional team it shouldnt just be picked by someone. if there is not enough time to run a last minute qualifier it should at least be completly random to keep it as fair as possible. i actually liked the team for ppl who are good at other fighting games but still picking that team couldnt be done fairly either
yeah i’m not sure what is going on here with the exhibition. i don’t like the idea of the 6th team. suddenly the “state vs. state” event has turned into a contest to see what kind of wildcard all-star team can be made from various free agents from different states. the whole idea was to keep players together by states they live in and have those states play each other. Keits, Humbag, and Perfect Legend all live in different states and thus should have to be on different teams. the 5 team format you had was fine, Osirun. not sure why you giving it a facelift at the last minute. that is what the 3v3 is for… for folks to team with whoever they want with no restrictions and create the best teams possible. if Keits/Humbag/PLegend want to team for the 3v3 then awesome but this state vs. state exhibition is a little different IMO. nothing against any of those 3 guys i’m just stating my opinion if opinions are being taken

Just mix and match the IL people if worse comes to worse. It sound like they won’t have a solid 5, so Keits and PL can just go on their team.
Keep it state by state.
But if there is a Wild Card team:
- Do 5 small single elimination tournies (cap it at 8 entrants, first come first served)
- $2 buy in (money goes to pot)
- Winner gets placed in WILD CARD team, character is locked
- Next tourney…previous character(s) won is/are banned
- Repeat

I dunno, I’m not sure you want to run an SSFIV tournament during the SSFIV tournament.
Yeah I could def understand people being like WTF about a mystery team. How did that idea start, lol, come to think of it it’s pretty unfair to the qualfied guys. I mean I’d like to play so I would if I had the chance, but oh well, we should have thought of this a long time ago.
Like Geon said I think Team OG is a cool idea so maybe we can run something like back in Cleveland depending on who comes to the June tourney.

Just let the Osirun versus Perfect Legend thing happen.
Keep the teams a state by state deal. No tournaments during the tournament to figure out who competes in the tournament on the day of the tournament. That’s dumb and would be pretty annoying to do.
Humbag’s idea was the best
edit: If there is going to be a team WildKeits, just make it simply and quietly without some silly ‘qualifier’ going on for it.

There will be no 6th team for the 5v5. All the ideas are great, and are possibly things to implement for PU2011. This year, though, we’re going to keep with the state vs state theme. The only wildcards will be anyone needed to fill out Team Illinois.
