But I think team practice would be good as well. But having the teams separated a bit (read: No ALIX/BBH/RAY/FATBEAR teams lol)
But first thing we should do is probably get our Ranbat system going and see what works in terms of time.
This last tournament started at about 9ish and ended close to 11 with 20 people or so.
Our last tournament with 15 took about 4 hours and was double elimination.
So heres a mass proposal.
The last Thursday of the month we do a double elimination tournament, straight up real talk tournament w/ Ranbat scoring.
the second thursday of the month we could do something like two SMALL double elimination tournaments like capped at 8 people for early, and then the later one could have more. One tournament early in the day and another later off in the night. We can use these as a way to just find out if people are progressing.
Then on the other weeks, we can do small single elim style tournaments or team tourneys if people are down, but then there is also the option to do small workshops. Titles could include: RayBladeX’s Airthrow obsession and BBH’s Why Dictator got so much botox before fighting (j/k on those.) But seriously, some character specific workshops would be good. Not just to learn about some of the characters, but to learn matchups and stuff. You can only learn so much from reading.
But like i said, a team tournament would be interesting. It would give us a chance to do a bit of a round robin style set up as well. What…6 teams of 3 (assuming there are 18 people) or however many at the time.
Also to make it more interesting, put a “coach” on each team a.k.a. the top X players, and ask em for feedback and stuff.
But all in all we gotta remember that our main goal here is to get Portland better.

So I wound up looking at SeattleVersus.com and it made me think a bit, ya know, we have the VFC for the NW, but what about something PDX related.
Anyways, who all would be interested in the idea to get something PDX centralized going, especially now that we got ranbats and what not going
Okay, tomorrow night:
I’m thinking the 2v2 format as discussed with Mackinzie. Alternate idea would be the Abridged Double Elim, a single-elim Random Box tournament, or a Random Select Night with no actual tourney, just one setup possibly dedicated to/focused towards random character select.
Well, tomorrow I would definitely love to get a lot of practice in. Haha, maybe some kind of one on one, and learning type of set up too?
