All I could think during the Pokemon Bank announcement was that this is how GameFreak is gonna filter out hacked mons from the previous gen from coming over. I wonder how stringent the hack checks are gonna be now that GF can look at your data in the cloud…
MegaCharizard’s design is pretty disappointing. It even lost articulation in its fingers which looks more like a devolution than anything.
I hope MegaBlastoise with its Proton Canon is Water/Steel.

I agree on MegaCharizard’s design being off… Charizard’s design is a classic… all the extra embellishments take away from that quintessential look it had. It’s one of a handful of Pokemon designs I don’t particularly like. Right now, it and MegaMewtwo are the only Megas that I don’t like, but that could change pending on what MegaScizor and MegaGengar look like(again, classic designs that really don’t need mucking with)
Yes, Thick Fat MegaVenusaur is gonna be sweet… gives it a way to combat all those Ice Beam carrying Water types.
I thought I was the only one not feeling the way they tinkered with Charizard.
I wasn’t really feeling the Blastiose either. If they could have made him more upright and shifted the cannons on its back to its arms then I think the Mega-Evolution would have been perfect.
As it is it looks really awkward.
I like Charizard’s design… He looks more like a Drake.
Blastoise… Not so much. I’d rather they give him steel-plating as armor, or something.
Venasaur looks damn near the same.

Finally, Venusaur has ascended
Yeah it doesn’t jump out like the other two but I dig the changes, like a plant overgrowing it’s boundaries. Charizard looks cool as shit and Blastoise looks almost militant.
I am making a VenuTroll team of nothing but stall Venusaurs that will MegaVolve to drag it out even more.
I have a feeling they’ll try much harder with MegaScizor though. You don’t make such a badass design and ruin it.
MegaBlastoise would’ve been better with plated armor and a shoulder cannon, these designs look more like fanfic art than real evolutions.
As of right now Shiny Charizard looks more badass for Charizard.

Wait…MegaCharizard has Drought? Is there anyway to Mega Evolve and then revert immediately afterwards? Charizard setting up his own Sun into Solar Power could be some shenanigans.

I’d say give Charizard Drought and Mega Charizard Solar Power, then you got some brokenness going on.

It does mean that MegaCharizard can be the ultimate weather setter. Weather setters typically try to “out-slow” each other to ensure their weather gets up… MegaCharizard says, “Nah, fuck that” and after your derp-toad makes it rain, it transforms, Drought begins, it hits you with a Sun-boosted Fire Blast/Solarbeam, laughs at your weakened Water attack and dips out if necessary…
MegaVenusaur will shit on everything in the Rain- Fire can’t touch him, and Water types can’t rely on Ice moves to one-up him.
MegaBlastoise might have gotten shafted depending on his stat increases… His ability boosts the power of Pulse attacks(i.e. Water Pulse, Dark Pulse, etc.). Kinda shitty sounding right now…
For some reason I doubt Eeveelutions will MegaEvolve.
