Pokemon X and Y: Aftermath (GEN 6 Discussion, Tier Talk, Breeding, Meganite)

I love those, but Rotation Battles are quite legit. In fact, it may be more tactical than singles because switching loses power due to rotating.

Word. Agreed 101%.

Poison needs to be super effective against water, water types are ridiculously dumb right now. They counter most of their weaknesses, hit dragons well, decent bases, and they get toys like Scald which have an insane burn rate.

I wonder if Tri-Attack will be dual based, an attack that has fire/ice/lighting properties would be a nice buff.

HERE’S WHAT I’M THINKING:

Porygon does Tri Attack on a grass type
Grass type resist lighting spec, but becomes neutral because of fire
Because of the ice spec, the attack is still super effective which negates the neutral

In effect Tri Attack would only do full damage if the Pokémon is neutral to all of them. Eh nice concept but seems way too situational.

Shame you missed the last 10 pages, we just finished mentioning how to balance the types. And yes I agree that Poison should be super effective against Water, literally the best typing in the game by volume. No other type can cover its (few) weaknesses like Water can and usually have excellent stat spreads.

Are mounts gonna be the new bikes?
I also want more info on that panda. Chances are its gonna have bad stats/Movepool, have an ugly as hell 3rd, or not have a 3rd.

The fairy types would be the cutesie things that aren’t animals. Exploud could be an exception because honestly, wth is Exploud and Whismur looks like a fairy. I also don’t think the new Mew is going to be a new type. If there was going to be a new type the promotion is going to Sylveon. It resembles the “soon to be” fairy types, you can’t identify it by looking at it, and they’re making such a big deal about what type it is. If this eevee isnt a new type there won’t be a new type even though it fits no other type.

lol the poison type is actually really good…

Pure poison is only weak against psychic and ground(despite earthquake being so heavily run, it does have admittedly strong potential i.e Muk and Weezing) …

But the poison type pokemon aren’t given the stats for the slow kill mechanic that they were designed around… so other pokemon run toxic that have no business even being able to learn the move(Vaporeon and Jellicent)…

Since the poison mechanic on poison type pokemon is a long failed experiment, they need to deepen these pokemon movepools and give them better stats…

In some places, the power creep is a necessary evil…

Nobody would use psychic if it wasn’t for Alakazam, Espeon, and Reuniclus, etc.(not mentioning legendaries, because they have strong stat spreads by default), when dark got introduced, psychic types had it rough…

Rock pokemon only became more viable through the buffs in sandstorm, etc…

Only obvious thing that I foresee when fairies get introduced is Hydreigon dropping down a couple of tiers…

You’re basing the typing too loosely. Snubbull is literally called the “fairy” pokémon, even though it doesn’t look it. Other Pokemon have whimsical or luminous themes that can make them Fairy/Light types.

Species has never had an effect on what type the pokemon is and to be honest needs to be Overhauled. They have pokemon that should be a set species and yet have some random species. Take Dragonite and kingdra, both “dragon” then you look at haxorus with “Axe jaw” and Garchomp with “Mach”. Clefairy and Clefable are “fairy” and then Clefa has “star shaped”. If anything Snubbull should be Puppy because it looks like a puppy has the name of a puppy and is a puppy.

I think the actual look of the pokemon is meant to tell what type they are. I mean when have you looked at a pokemon and not been able to guess what type it is?

Hydregion isn’t really that great because it’s slow as fuck. Dragonite all day.

Hydregion may be slow but nothing can switch in on it.

Conkeldurr revenge kills Hydregion depending on its health/life orb recoil.

Fixed.

Alright, that does it.

Dragon-Type Pokemon Ranking Poll GO!

Top:
Garchomp
Hydregon

Mid:
Everything else

Bottom:
That Digimon whose name I forgot. Drud-Something.

Well obviously Garchomp deserves special honors, good attack typing and 100+ base speed. Even with the Sand Veil ban this thing is a powerhouse.

Mence is also up there, but he’s not unpredictable and formidable as he once was.

Dragonite is better than Flygon, really only because Mulitscale gives him a free DD not varying any entry hazards. Some would even argue he makes better utility than Mence

Flygon is not bad per say, but there are generally better OU options to choose from so he becomes an afterthought. Roost, STAB Quake, SS resist, U-turns are nice though. He gets no dream world moves, but Levitate is still a great ability.

Hydregion is basically SpecsMence with better STABs, makes a good wallbreaker with 105 Atk base. Still, he evolves VERY late for most his bases being slightly above average. Dark type hinders his defensive capabilities.

Kyurem-B hits like a truck, hardest hitting Outrage in the game. Slow and fighting moves brings him down.

Haxorus looked promising at first, but now Kyurem-B outclasses it in almost every way.

Lati bros. need Soul Dew otherwise they are manageable.

Altaira is bad. Not even good in it’s own tier.

Hey man, you leave Druddigon out of bottom tier. That dude is a beast on Trick Room teams. It gets Glare and Sucker Punch to go along with its Outrage, and Dragon Tail is almost tailor-made for it.
Also, unlike those noobs Garchomp and Dragonite, he’s not 4x weak to Ice and can actually take a hit unlike Mr. Glass Cannon Haxorus, lol.

Loves his shit-tier Pokemon

Oh that’s my "rushed personal favorite list of dragons."
I totally forgot to put Rayquaza at the top too.

The coolest looking is Hydregion, but Dragonite is the best. It looks great and is strong as fuck. Goofy orange mother fucker.

Dragonite I always associate with Barney. I can’t see why people like it…

It does look goofy. And then you watch the Orange Islands Finals filler arc where a Dragonite thrashes the holy hell out of Ash’s entire team and looks like one broken, unstoppable badass and…yeah, no one questions Dragonite again.
