Does anyone else think it’s about time for a console Pokemon game? And not Pokemon Stadium shit, I mean like, Pokemon Black and White 2 on WiiU.

I don’t think so. I mean, I’d like to see it, but I think Game Freak wants Pokemon to primarily be a handheld experience (it is “Pocket Monsters” after all), with any console Pokemon games be more for purely the battling aspect of the games. I doubt that will change anytime soon.

Though I think the Wii U would be perfect for that Pokemon MMO that people have been begging Nintendo for.

It would just be so big. Like, there are a million things that they could put in a console version of the series, a huge part of that being a smooth multiplayer experience. An MMO would probably gross a ludicrous amount of money, especially right now.

It’s like Nintendo doesn’t want to make a shitload of money.

there hand held consoles sell more

also

POCKET MONSTER, POCKET MONSTER

the games were meant for hand helds, they sell more and have more versatility that way.

it

I would still love a Pokemon RPG on a home console. There are sooo many possibilities that a Wii U version of Pokemon X/Y could open up.

There should be a entire game about how Team Rocket takes over the world.

Team Rocket needs to be in the game in general… I never understood why they disappeared after Gen 2(?) when they’re still relevant in the animated series.

Because ash and red are separate people.

However i had this weird wish that in a new Pokemon game, that red was the leader of team rocket. But they weren’t actually bad guys, they just acted like bad guys and actually did good things, but just not legally and stuff.

The reason I have pirated every single pokemon game after generation 3 is because they are all the exact same shit from a casual standpoint. And don’t even get me started on “competitive” pokemon battling because that hasn’t been enjoyable or satisfying in over the better part of a decade by now. Even hyper-casualized garbage like League of Legends will offer you a better competitive experience (and if you take that game seriously you should just inject bleach into your own brain). This game is obviously meant for casual play but it’s so god damn boring as an RPG. I play each new game for like 3 days (or a week if I’m on a nostalgia kick) and then get bored with it and stop playing.

The last great innovations from the makers of pokemon were made in 2003 (abilities and double battles) unless you count adding the ability to battle people over the internet (which was just a technological inevitability).

You’ve been limited to a pokemon knowing 4 moves since the beginning of the series
You’ve been limited to having to carry 6 pokemon since the beginning of the series
The level cap has been 100 since the beginning of the series
80% of the pokemon available to you have been complete shit because they learn 1 or 2 good level-up moves since the beginning of the series
Each new game has come in two versions that are the exact same shit except for a handful of pokemon which leads to the next point:

You have never had access to every pokemon in any one pokemon game ever. You’ve always had to trade for version exclusives, for the legendary you chose not to get, and you’ve always had to participate in real-life events or wait for online promotions in order to get the most desired legendary pokemon. That is complete fucking bullshit. **If I want a fucking Bulbasaur I should be able to go find one. **

The storyline is always the same:
You collect badges to challenge the pokemon league. Along the way there is some criminal organization, an annoying ass cave or two, and three hundred or so pointless trainer battles (half of which you try your best to avoid) to try and stop you. 80% of the game is brainless grinding. Nothing is even remotely challenging unless you self-limit.

Game freak is like every traditional Japanese company ever and it makes me want to choke a nerd.

I remember playing a mod for pokemon called “Bloody Diamond” and it was amazing just because:

  1. It was challenging- trainer levels and AI were ramped up significantly. wild pokemon were extremely high leveled and you could run into shit like wild tyranitar
  2. every pokemon ever was available to you in that one game- you could find wild bulbasaur, you could find mew, etc.

That’s how pathetically stale pokemon has gotten. Two things that should be standard got me super wet.

In fact I’m gonna go play that shit right now.

These are the guys who carried my teams. I tend to drop my starters unless they fill an interesting or rare type slot (Like fire in Gen 4).

Your Wrong.

The end.

Seriously dude, where do you want me to start in this wrong post filled with wrong.

Ni No Kuni is probably the closest you will ever get atm.

Just ignore that one… it doesn’t even deserve a response.

Yea, I was watching some footage of the game and thought the same thing. The frame of that game would be perfect for Pokemon.

I wonder if the person understands game design.

Probably not. His problems stem from his own personal vision of what the game should be, completely ignoring the fact there are reasons why the game was designed the way it is. Or… He’s just lazy and wants everything handed to him.

I am guessing the latter. However his ranting did remind me of an issue that i have with the series.

I kinda don’t see a point in Trade Evolution, I know on a base level its to get people to buy more stuff, but still its kinda annoying and adds nothing artistically and mechanically to the game.

True. They should give players without that option an alternative way to evolve those Pokemon.

To a degree I kinda understand, because a lot of the trade Pokemon are f***-amazing, and in this day an age you could just go into a forum and ask someone to help you evo a poke if you need it.

But its kinda annoying, i wish i could just do it myself, don’t make it easy for me but make it possible.

I haven’t read past page 3 of here, but I just want to say that that part I bolded REALLY irks me so much.

Personally, I don’t find it rushed at all and actually it’s releasing at about the time I haphazardly predicted last year. I’m quite excited and pretty much going straight for Fennekin.
