Pokemon X and Y: Aftermath (GEN 6 Discussion, Tier Talk, Breeding, Meganite)

it COULD but it probably won’t. A difference in IV’s in attacks/defenses are not very likely to change the number of turns it takes to kill something. it is VERY easy for a single point of speed to completely change the outcome of the game. It’s because speed is a binary stat. there’s no “kinda losing” you either lose the speed difference or win it.

Then play Pokemon Battle Revolution… That’s exactly what it is.

Btw, what separates them from you is the fact that you’re legit and they’re not. Your issue isn’t even with the game, its with the players and you want the game to compensate for it.

Fucking hell. Sorry, you’re just hopeless.

How about the very definition of the word? The fact that they manipulate the games code to achieve what they want, hence the word “HACK”.

It’s either the game compensates for it, or the game suffers from it. I choose the former.

I’m finished speaking with you. You have no argument. From what I can gather, you just don’t want people to be able to have whatever Pokemon they want without effort. Well too bad, because that’s been around since the game’s conception. The problem is that these players have no dedicated medium for them to play Pokemon the way they want, so they use what everyone else uses, including legitimate players. And no, Pokemon Battle Revolution is not made for that purpose… that’s just laughable.

1 - Gengar/Gyarados
2 - Quagsire
3 - Sceptile, and probably Linoone for the item finding spam in R/S
4 - Torterra/Empoleon
5 - Serperior/Scraggy

And I’m sorry you’re unable to express your ideas accurately and clearly without contradicting your own argument.

  1. Charizard
  2. Typhlosion, Amphoras, Scizor
  3. Blaziken, Sceptile (IMO Best gen in terms of starters looking badass)
  4. Infernape
  5. Did not play. At all. All the starters looked fucking ugly, so I didn’t buy it.
  1. Bulbasaur
  2. Bulbasaur
  3. Bulbasaur
  4. Bulbasaur
  5. Bulbasaur!

He’s just the best.

Hey, what did I just say? Has to be within the Gen itself.

And all the people putting ???'s or saying they didn’t play the game, for the love of God just hit up the Dex and pick one at random for all I care.

Frankly, I’ve been too busy arguing with a wall to read other posts. Still… I don’t care for any Pokemon past season 2.

QFT

Half the people who know Pokemon probably don’t care about any past Season 1 even though they enjoy Season 2.

Seriously, pick 4 random numbers in the right spot, there you go.

Gen 1: Charizard (and only charizard)
Gen 2: Scizor
Gen 3: Blaziken
Gen 4: Infernape
Gen 5: Zoroark

you missed out on alot of good pokemon

anyways

  1. gengar, charizard, alakazam,dragonite
2)uh…amphoras and scizor, tyranitar( gen 1 and 2 is one is a blur to me, as in they are both kinda the same gen to me)
    3)metagross, wailord, salamance, flygon, aggron
4)dusknoir, electavire, rhypeior, magmotar, lucario, infernape, luxray, drapion, [S]Pimpcrow [/S] honchcrow
  2. gulurk, valcorona, crustle, chandelure, mandibuz, hydregon,

for all intensive purposes this is a shortlist because i am forgetting alot of them , even though i am playing black 2 at the moment

If I had to pick… I’ll have to think here. I don’t really remember all of season 2, much of season 3 and just fragments of 4. Didn’t play 5.
So…

  1. Bulbasaur
  2. Lugia
  3. Milotic
  4. Lopunny (Playboy Bunny Pokemon?
  5. Emolga (I guess… based on looks, didn’t play)

Just a heads up, you’re looking for the term, “for/to all intents and purposes.”

See, not so hard.

You aren’t going to win a “non-hacking” argument on SRK. Maybe on Smogon, but not here. One of the things that made Shoddy/other simulators so valuable was how you can test team formations, ideas, and a heap of other stuff in a matter of seconds. This is a very important aspect towards today’s metagame because GF feels the need to continue giving us braindead pokemon with absurd moves and abilities. There’s so much shit you have to be prepared for, unlike the past where we could just identify one problem and have the appropriate counter handy:

Gen 1: Taruos, no doubt. Can take a hit and fire away with STAB’d normals and good speed. Basically forced you to run Rhydon or Golem (which he has Blizzard for )
Gen 2: Curselax. Ridiculous movepool, doesn’t care about defense, KO’s like crazy when setup.
Gen 3: Here’s where Pokemon gets cluster-fucked. Who do we stop? Who do we watch out for? Suicune? Raikou? Mence? Abilities? Guys have access to Choice Band now, so that Medicham may look laughable but PP+Choice Band packs a meeeean punch.
Gen 4: Oh look now there’s more entry hazards like S/R raping Pokemon before they even get in! SkarmBliss? Garchomp? More choice items? GF forcing our hands here, all that hard work I put into one Pokemon just flew out the window.
Gen 5: Urgh now Pokemon have legendary bases, everything KOing stuff like it was nothing. What’s this? Even MORE abilities from Dreamworld? Retarded weather setups? Everything derping shit out? We have truly reached the Marvel of Pokemon.

Breeding/EV training can be quite tedious. Sure, there’s ways to get around it like Macho Brace and Cycling Road, but it just cheapens the game and is not fun. When I was kid, I didn’t have to worry about fucking EV’s or paying some old bitch to watch my Pokemon have sex with each other. What’s the whole point of natures? Now we have to take account of our Machamp getting a huge boost in a stat he doesn’t even need, but I guess the flip side to that is that he can be really powerful if he gets a boost in ATK or something.

It’s like bringing a knife vs gun to a fight. Obviously, the guy who brought the gun is going to be at an advantage because he planned ahead to increase his chances of survival. But, in Pokemon, hacking doesn’t guarantee you the win. What about the movesets? What if the gunner is inaccurate and can’t hit his target? The guy holding a knife can still get in and hack away. By a Pokemon perspective, the Gunner can actually have 90% accuracy but still find some way to miss. 10% hax costed him his life, which makes people rage over criticals.

Gen 6: TAC’s and X-Factor. Only a matter of time.

Well they do have 3 man rotation battles, I never did like those o:

You are fucking retarded if you think IV/EV training was a good gameplay addition to Pokemon.

This is why I suggest two different circuits for battling. One that is simulated, giving players all the resources that hacking does (within legal restrictions) to create a team that can ONLY be used in this “simulated battle” circuit and nowhere else. Then a standard trainer circuit for other players who want to battle with Pokemon that are trained legitimately. It takes nothing away from the game (because hacking is already incredibly easy) and lets people who want to play legit, not have to worry about hackers… and people who build perfect Pokemon to play competitively can do so (officially) without having to interfere with those who don’t.

Obviously more things need to be done to support the game’s integrity. Moderation, RNG fixing and balancing out the training process so it feel natural without glitchy or lame shortcuts. Possibly retool the EV/IV aspect.

I think the concept was good, but in practice… it ended up sketchy. I don’t think EVs or IVs were supposed to be discovered. They were just there to make Pokemon more unique, so they all wouldn’t have the same stats… but they got abused.
