Poison Team Synergy Thread

that generally wasn’t the point either o_O i’m fully aware of backbreaker catching full screen, it was a discussion regarding spacing…

My bad, I was watching some Julia stuff while replying but meant to type Jin instead! But yeah I’ve been messing around with Jin/Poison. I don’t have anything impressive so far and I’ve been starting Jin on point.

So far I just have a one meter BnB that does about 400.

jump:hp:, :b::mp:+:lp:, special step + :lp:, st.:mk:, special step + :lp:, (TC Poison), close:hk: xx KBG.

As I said nothing special. But I’m mostly just trying to find decent TC damage between the two right now.

oh ok…damn, we use the same current team then!..um in my honest opinion I would abuse Jin’s Jump :hk: as its a cross up and has a good hit box. for the same combo, i usually either do close :mp: to :mk: LMT+follow(hard knockdown) or instead of the LMT add Cr. :hp: to :hk: KBG.

Poison can’t give Jin much outside the corner, however every 4 out of 10 times i can get a special step+ :mp: off a KBG tag cancel, if i work on it i mite get a uppercut into something else…
however they both have good corner game and easy ways to force opponents into the corner.

I been using Poison/Jin since day 1. I tend to have Poison on point as a battery. Jin with meter does good damage.

Care to elaborate?

Cammy users should also know that they can connect a :hk: Cannon Spike after a :mk: or :hk: KBG Switch Cancel~ not as damaging as a backbreaker but its something.

For some reason poison works as being a secondary to end combos because of her tools. I can’t see her being A tier. She does work well with Kazuya,Ken,Lili,Nina, and Heihachi though.

her and Cammy actually have fun as hell corner combos and now since i know i can get cannon spike off her :mk: or :hk: KBG(any where on the screen) I think this team has potential, EX spin knuckle combos are beast, even though they are 2 stock or more combos they look awesome and do up to 500+ damage, im still looking for options for this team, also Cannon Spike switch cancels makes for some interesting combos too.

if you can get normal spin knuckle to hit in the corner you can do massive damage too~ Im going to post that kind of stuff up in the front page, Genistar if you got Switch Cancel bnb’s then post them and i’ll but those up too if you like.

I feel like without Power gems you are gonna rely heavily on Julia for the damage options. Poison is gonna be more setup oriented to get you into those high damage Julia combos especially in the corner (where everyone seems to benefit teaming with Poison) and she can take you right over there too with the right combos.

im really starting to using Cammy again, her Cannon spike is combo friendly with Poison’s options, not to mention get at least a Cannon spike off her KBG.

im going to test if you safe tag after a meaty :hp: aeolus edge as well if you can i got some stupid sets going on…

she can do ~500dmg as anti air, tagging with julia.
crHP (counter) CADC stHP -> HK KbG tag julia -> f+MP~MK -> crHP -> HK DP

i think we should really use MK KbG for combo, as crLK -> crLP -> crMK -> MK KbG tag julia -> b+MP~MP -> crHP -> tiger strike.
332 damage, starting with lights.

In fact, MK KbG allow your partner to run close to the opponent and continue combo. I’m sure it works with other charcter than julia.

i just tried it with cammy( i got close :mp: and cr. :mk: to cannon spike to work) it seems good enough, for 1 stock it seems really good.

tried stuff with Jin, he can use his string :b: :mp: > :lp: into his special step right hook, it did 355 damage from doing it straight out of cr. :mk: to :mk: KGB.

the potential is there now…as im starting to get the timing for it, im srarting to see how Poison contributes to her team mates now…im hyped…thanks V-Ryu

Messing around with Jin/Poison again and randomly made another simple combo off of a jump in that does about 422. It’s more or less the same as what I posted earlier. I’m just posting what I do here while I try to optimize my combos between the two characters.

j.:hp:, :b::mp:+:lp: xx special step + :lp:, :b::f::b::hp:, (TC to Poison), close:hk: xx :qcf::hp:

This does decent damage (about 420) for one bar, works anywhere on screen, and leaves Poison close to her opponent to get ready for neutral wake up or tech rolls.

Close:hk: xx :hk:KBG can also be done here either midscreen or in the corner. When done in the corner the combo goes to about 435 in damage.

ahh i get yah…i’ve been trying to find combos in the opposite order too…it seems when you combo off KBG you use some juggle points so with Jin the only consistent damage you can get is from is special step+ Right hook, because MLD is inconsistent, and uppercut does little damage as you can’t combo out of it from that situation…you can do super tho :stuck_out_tongue: Everything from mental alertness isn’t good in that situation either so i think im ok with 327 off a raw KBG…

im getting various damage figures because of KBG not always hitting flush…
I didn’t think about using MLD at all…its pretty good but you gotta Switch Cancel as soon as the move starts…
but I get your Corner combo damage if i do a jump in from Midscreen with Poison…

I’m loving poison/raven. Poison’s sHP is great for chaining to cross rush where Raven can do 3-4 crHP before TCing the last back to poison. With 40+ meter gain on Raven from Poison’s launcher, you can get a good chunk of meter to either blow on TCing back to poison, or using 3 for Raven’s 600 damage combo into super.

I also like setting up raven’s ninja star teleport mixups after TCing KbG at the end of long combos.

Finally settled for Poison/Juri. Juri is downright retarded in this game, and the fact that she can take major advantage of Poison’s cross rushes is a big plus.

A full cross rush into a Juri meterless combo does 320 damage. A jump in into HP > Launcher does from 380 to 430 damage depending on the jump in. If I have meter for Super, then that’s 430~580 damage depending on the combo starter. Lovely.

damn that is some derpy stuff you got there Jamp, you wana help me put that together? as you can see im starting Character specific ones now. I just started doing Lili(i need to head to her thread), and was about to do Jin…but this sounds reallly cool Jamp.

I’m still working on tag cancels and such, but the combos I got now are:

c.:lk: > c.:mp: > s.:hp: Launch, c.:hp: JC j.:hp: Land cl.:hp: xx :lk: Sempusha

The variations come from doing a jump-in before the launcher with either :lk: or :hp: into cl.:hp: then Launcher for the meterless variations and switching Juri’s cl.:hp: at the end for a c.:mk: xx Super.

Maximum damage comes from j.:hp: cl.:hp: Launcher, c.:hp: JC j.:hp: Land c.:mk: xx Super.

Alright, so next i should just head over to her thread and read whats up about her in this game? I don’t know what I got myself into~

that Max damage combo is 569 right? or did i mess up somewhere?

I run Poison/Julia as Poison helps Julia get in, to which Julia then puts on the hurt. It’s a honestly still in the experimental phase but it works it seems
