Poison combo thread

So i have a question here after doing ex rekka and you wana follow it up with hp rekka. It only hits if i walk forward for like 2-3 frames and then do the hp rekka. Is this the only way to do it consistantly? Does it not work on all characters? I tested it on decapre, blanka and able and it worked only when i took half a step or so. I know in the corner you can just go nuts but am i doing somethjng wrong and would this be the best corner carry? Would just jumping and getting the reset be easier and better?

Sooooo neat Fei specific combo I stumbled over, yes this works at midscreen:

st. hk (2-hits) xx lp AE > cr. mk xx EX WOL > whatever.

I dunno how you get +6 frame advantage off lp AE with that, but it works. Be nice to have it finally out on PC next week so I can really have time to mess with stuff.

Standing? Crouching? Counter hit?

St. hk forces stand and doesn’t get any extra advantage on 2-hits from a CH so should work in pretty much any situation as long as you’re close enough.

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet but you can cancel both the first and second hit of rekka into super.

Just tested this out and it’s amazing. The reeling animation and push back cause the lp ae to hit on the last frame of hitstun from close hk giving you +6 which means in the corner you can link a crouching hp xx special. I’m going to test this out on everyone.

in corner, just past midscreen:

fireball -> ex fireball -> ex rekkas -> ender (srk, ultra)

Random character specific fireball combo of the day is for the twins when they are crouching. CH cr. hp xx lp AE > cr. mk xx ex WoL. Not nearly as good as the st. hk xx lp AE stuff, but it’s still viable as a frametrap since it’s in range even after a st. lk.

Thanks for checking all the characters st. hk works on, I figure anything else will be on crouching characters with cr. hp since it does a big reel anim but doesn’t force stand. Also any combo that lands a +6 lp AE can be just be FADC’ed directly into U1 which does over 500 damage easy.

So I’ve now got Ultra Street Fighter IV for Steam, and have been getting back into playing regularly.

I decided to play Poison out of all the new characters. And I like most of her tools.

But I can not seem to get her simplest combos to works consitancly.

Like…

Cr.LP -> St.Mk -> Lite Fireball

St.Mk only seems to combo with Cr.LP 15% of the time. I’m using a training dummy that auto blocks after the last hit to practice my hit confirming. But I seriously don’t understand why this very simple combo isn’t consistent.

1 framer. I’d recommend plinking it. It’s what I do and I can do that link pretty consistently now. The timing seems really awkward if you just try to input it normally, I agree.

‘Plinking it’ meaning hit both buttons at the same time, yes?

No, you wanna hit MK slightly before you hit LK. The input should look like this in training mode if you do it right:

MK

If you hit them at the same time, it counts as one input. Plinking will count it as two separate inputs, turning your 1 framer into a 2 framer.

You just need to practice doing the combo. It’s really easy if you plink lp either use a modded stick, get more conistent orrrr bind a key to select so you don’t have to get a modded stick ;).

Why would you need a modded stick or any funny binds, you’re plinking the mk not the lp.

Also random fireball combo of the day is on crouching Guile in the corner.

cr. hp xx mp AE > st. mk xx mp/hp? WoL.

Just messing around before work so no time to fully test, but I swear it comboed with hp WoL in the right corner but mp in the left. It can be FADC’ed into U1 at midscreen (or corner) as well. Also it gets MORE frame advantage on CH so you can do cr. hp xx mp AE > cr. hp (or even sweep, so it’s at least +9 on CH).

Has anyone tested the overhead combos extensively? She can combo against most crouchers with a linked crLP, except for the tall guys.

However, I also know that she can combo an overhead into fierce on crouching Elena. Was just wondering what’s possible against, say Cammy or Blanka.

Don’t take my word for it but im like 50% sure I saw Poison land a s.HP against a Fuerte. I’ll try it out when I get on the game, not sure if it was crouching, though.

In your case, you’ll want to hit MK just before LK. I believe someone said MP and LP above, so I just want to be sure.
