Poison combo thread

This is probably common knowledge, but I will post this anyway.
A Ryu had me in the corner and tossed a fireball, at the last second I used U1. His fireball went through Poison and U1 hit him.

yeah you can also ultra through his cr.mk into fireball string if he’s doing it from too far

How do I go about plinking Poisons BnB? Specifically the cr lp, cr lp, st mk into rekkas? I’m not super familiar with plinking but what would the plink sequence look like for this combo? I’d really love to land this combo with 100% efficiency.

It’s just a steady rhythm. There’s no speed up or speed “down” for the rhythm to it, it’s just steady.

The more you do her bnb it starts to set in. Just recently her cr.lp x cr.lp x mk x rekka set in for me so I stopped doing cr.lp x3 > rekka.

Check your ranges, of course.

Sometimes this will happen when buffering in mixups (cr. MK xx WoL, the cr. MK gets blocked, the WoL doesn’t). You can take advantage of it when it occurs.

I’ve been messing around with EX AE combos in the corner, and found that cl HK cancelled on the first hit leaves you super close after the EX AE, so you can link more close normals.

j. HK -> cl HK (1-hit) -> EX AE -> cl LK -> cl HK (1-hit) -> EX AE -> cl LK -> cl HK (1-hit) -> EX AE -> cl LK -> cl HK (1-hit) -> EX AE

I didn’t test it on every character or get damage stats or anything, but I find it cool that poison can link that many close normals by cancelling the first hit of cl HK.

A combo I’ve actually used in a match is
cr. LK -> cl. LK -> cr. HP -> MK KBG -> FADC -> U1

The scaling from the starting light attacks lowers the damage a bit, but it still scales the U1 less than ex WoL would have at the end of this combo.

I’m not good with notation but I’ll do my best so you guys can understand. It’s corner only but can get fairly good damage with 2 bars…

Crumple> f.dash> fierce fireball > cl. Hk (1st hit only)> ex. Fireball> cr.jab> st. Fierce> ex fireball> cr. jab> standing mk> rekka

Crumple> f.dash> fierce fireball > cl. Hk (1st hit only)> ex. Fireball> cr.jab> st. Fierce> ex kick move

Jump in combo - j.HK, s.HK (2 hits), mk DP, FADC, U1 (561 damage)

After ex-rekkas, you can also jump, land and link ex DP for full hits, or lk DP, FADC, U1.

Curious, can you swap cr.jab>cl.Fierce with cl.short>cl.roundhouse (both hits)?

I’d assume you’d get more damage due to the extra hit in cl.roundhouse. Anyone willing to try this? I’m at work but if no one does, i’ll test it when I get home and record it I guess.

I’ve been trying this combo for half an hour - it’s hard lol. I couldn’t do it.

I just learned you can combo after ex AE midscreen.
j.HK -> cl. HK (1-Hit) -> ex AE -> cr. LP -> far MK -> EX WoL (MP WoL wiffed after MK on chars I tested on.) Or you can cancel cr.LP into LP WoL for less meter.

Hey guys i’ve been in the lab for poison and this i what i’ve come up with:

I have found a bnb hit confirm string of:

cr.lpx2 or 3 into cr.lk > rekka is pretty good and easy to perform
~180-200 dmg

I use this bnb a good amount online with success

A new combo off of a crossup lk:

crossup lk, cr.lp, cl.st.lk, cr.hp > rekka

this needs testing on more characters if possible

A nice punish for around 400 dmg IF you are close enough otherwise substitute cr.hp with cr.mk or something:

Cr.hp > lp.AE > fadc, cr.hp > hp.rekka

Also, after ex.rekka forward jump, i hve found using mk in the air is possible to go under the opponent after a dash. The mk cannot be too early or too late, play around with it. Needs testing for all the cast (too lazy =p)

That’s all i’ve got for now, let’s find some more!

You can actually get a meaty/late overhead setup off EX rekka jump cancel. I was setting it up off j.HP a few times to see if it was legit or not.

Is there a way to do the first combo consistently? I know the character needs to be crouching, but I can only hit the ultra a couple of times.

You can link MK KBG after ex AE midscreen. So…
j.HK -> cl.HP -> ex AE -> MK KBG -> FADC -> U1 = 574 damage

It looks like it could be character specific, but using cl.HK (1 hit) instead of cl.HP looks like it should work on most of the cast. (but drops the damage to 536)

I really like to do EX WoL into j.mk. Then when you land either dash under your opponent and do s.hk or not dash and try s.hk. If you hit you can go for another EX WoL.
