How about this time :D?
getting their Morri is still weird.
o_Ohmmmmmmmm By weird do you mean I’m only making it worse or I’m getting to a good proportion but still looks out of proportion/weird?

My last stand!!
No, don’t screw up the proportions.
Like this.

If need be, you can rotate the art to fit more of her in.
bingo
Crisco! I like the first image better. Is it possibly if you can make the morrigan picture at an 88% Opaque? I find the Morrigan picture to look like (CHEEZY REFERENCE ALERT!!!) a neon green lollipoppy color.
I’m only doing that as a guide, I’m not doing the entire thing for you, you know.
okkaayyy. Soo wanna tell me how I take that first image of yours and open it up on my photoshop with the layers lol?
How much of the image is being lost IF you use Skeleton buttons?
I’m discovering some very disturbing things just off the measurements of Sanwa buttons (not identical, but it gives a rough idea of what to expect).
The button holes are ~30mm but of course the buttons AREN’T exactly 30mm. The lips measure out to 32mm minimum at the widest point. The internal plunger space is roughly 26mm across. The plungers themselves measure to roughly 24mm across, diameter-wise, exterior wall to exterior wall. The exterior plunger walls themselves are roughly 1.2mm wide. That leaves a bit less than 22mm (diameter) on the inside of the plunger to work with circular images. That’s not a heck of a lot… You have a huge area of SPACE where image cutoff occurs from each side of the button’s retaining ring. It’s a roughly 4mm wide ring all around the plunger art zone.
Something to be taken into consideration if you’re planning to use art where the buttons do overlap character faces…
I’ll be able to do more accurate measurements with Seimitsus/Rollie Skeleton buttons are I get them in a little a bit, probably make up an accurate template to see what happens to character art with these things. I can only do something rough with Sanwa outlines…
@GeorgeC - Huhhhhhh???
Also D3V did you rotate the picture as a preference, because I increased the image to your guideline size and I noticed yours did have a rotation to it. Is it a personal preference because I don’t see how rotating the picture makes the picture any larger but probably would add certain parts on Morrigan that you prefer.

That’s still out of proportion?
How hard can it be. Grab the original file. Paste it onto your work and transform it (HOLDING SHIFT) so that it appears into the same size as the sample I made.
There’s no “huhhh.”
I have never seen a thread that talks about templates and Photoshop that takes art cut-off into consideration with regards to Skeleton buttons.
All the Skeleton button threads I’ve ever read have been about HOW to cut the art and put it under the plungers.
I think people are just eyeballing and cutting art off the print-out without taking into account what it is that’s being cut off (AHEAD OF TIME) many times.
If you’ve planned it so that the buttons – Skeletons or solids – don’t overlap the faces, you, of course, avoid the cut-off problems. Sometimes that’s NOT possible and you have to figure out what’s going to be lost AHEAD of time.
Right now, the way that image looks Chun Li’s left arm/hand will be cut off/partially obscured by buttons and a chunk of Felicia’s face might also be blocked off/cut off by buttons, too. Also, the tip’s of Chun Li’s right thumb and her left foot are going to be cut off from the framing, too. Right now, unless the framer is comfortable with this, I’d say it looks awkward. You want to try to avoid framing images that cut off heads and extremities (limbs, feet, hands) unless they’re absolutely not necessary. With that Chun-Li pose, I do think it looks awkward to cut off the right thumb tip and head of left foot. At that the very least, I would scale the image down a bit if it’s on a separate layer in Photoshop. (EDIT => TRANSFORM => SCALE unless it’s changed since Photoshop CS2…) That would be the easiest way to resolve the issue.
Is that what the person planning to print that art really wants??? I don’t see any pre-planning for the button layout, period. No indication of what kind of button layout/case style other than “looks like a custom”. As nice as art is, sometimes there’s some art you just can’t use because of practical composition reasons and hardware issues (ie, button layout).
Also the crotch/shaft alignment of Morrigan is still incorrect. If you flip Morrigan horizontally and give Chun a little less space you might be able to get this to work.
I believe the “huhhh” is because it seems like you’re hijacking the thread.
Bottom panel.
Ohh, back template, I get it. Sorry. This makes more sense now.
GeorgeC, check what Zangar did to have more art show.
That, and we’ll have no futa-Morrigan under my watch.
It would bother me too if it weren’t a joystick. Jdm’s avatar is making me laugh right now.
Makes you think of him as a small, hyperactive, puppy-girl with that candy red balltop being wagged like that.
