Photoshop tutorial?

Omg… D3V is a photoshop mastuhhhhh!!!

Now for my previous post. Any suggestions? I know Felicia is a little out of proportion with her border (Not sure how to make it equal cause I’m dumbb with measurements and making things symmetric… -.-; But anythingelse? I have to admit the artwork looks a bit bland so any ideas on how to touch it up would be appreciated.

The “Save For Web” version below…

most obvious problems with that picture, is you seem to have skewed the images to fit into the diagonal boxes. Which makes the images look squashed up. What I would of done is: “if” the boarders are done correctly you should of three white large white areas which are selectable with the magic wand tool.

Then I would of got my images and used the “paste into” function, and pasted each image into each white box.

It looks out of proportion because it is out of proportion. I’m guessing that you didn’t hold SHIFT when resizing/transforming the images.

CRL + T or (Edit Transform/Distort), then right click on the transform and go distort, pull the edges until it looks better and in proportion.

Or grab the original layer and dont distort it. So this artwork is not your own is it? or is it a screen grab off another custom stick?

Best redoing the borders, then adding the 3 girls separately on their own layers and masking their bodies to each border so they don’t overlap.

noppee  HURR DURRR

so doing a FREE transform and fitting it to the edges, hold SHIFT from the corners or ALT SHIFT and it will enlarge without distortion. Will will then notice the outer girls will crop off alot, thus why you need the original artwork, then even space to borders then the girls.

So does anyone notice a blur that could be possible? Also I checked the stroke option for blending options on the borders.

Can you link me the files you originally used and the size you wanted them at?

By files do you mean the pictures? Also the size really isn’t a huge issue for me as long as all three equally fit the entire template and borders.

Hey guys, i made a quick homare tribute using the characters and template that DonkeyBlonkey is using. This just to show how sticking with one art style or artist makes things a lot easier

@Chuu - Very nice artwork! Especially your borders and symmetrical equality -___- Me jellyy. Looks like I’m going to be up till 1 tonight experimenting and probably tomorrow I’ll have everything touched up meaning the final product/draft.

So wanna be there in all that…

mhmmm

My semi-final draft. It feels like it’s missing something. Logo? Names on the characters? Or a fitting background for Chun-Li?

Morrigan still isn’t proportioned right.

Compare with the original art.

You simply DO NOT mess with the proportions of the original. That’s probably the biggest noobie mistake you can make.

I thought holding SHIFT is basic skill.
And that everyone knows it.

This time I did hold down shift but I felt as if Felicia was still too big compared to Morrigan (EVEN after the shift) so I let go of the shift to widen Morrigan. Any solutions?

You make a compromise and try to fit the art best in the space provided.

Gerrr. Time for improvisation!

That’s one of the things that professional quality is all about, making those compromises without actually looking like you compromised.
