Phantom Breaker: Extra - Available in Arcade, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (in Japan)

man i am soooo jealous of 360 owners. :annoy:

hopefully this gets a ps3 release.

oh…and one dick is better than none.

How many people have a jp 360? Shmup and Idolm@ster fanatics, so I wouldn’t feel too bad cuz that’s hardly anyone.

IDK if you want to call him a dude. He looks pretty femy to me. :stuck_out_tongue:

ewww femy.

actually the dicks in this game is all wrong.

I don’t mind buying a JP Xbox 360s if it doesn’t get a State-Side release. I need to buy IM@S and Shump games anyways and a lot of used JP Xbox 360s usually price between $75-$150.

because 5pb.CEO is 360 fanboy and dont like PS3
5pb. CEO Promises Xbox 360 Support (andriasang.com, 11.06.2009)

Stumbled upon this thread by accident, go so angry at the crap and misinformation spewing here, I registered solely in an attempt to set you fighting meatheads straight.

No. No. No. No. Phantom Breaker is an original fighting game with characters designed by Suzuhira Hiro. She is the artist for high-class works such as Shuffle! I don’t expect you meatheads to know who she is, but you’ve heard of anime, right? Anime? Japanese stuff, like the fighting games you guys play?

5pb are the creators of Memories Off and Steins;Gate, but they have nothing to do with this game except publishing and media. The fighter itself is developed by DeltaFactory.

There are a lot of reasons why other small developers go 360 only (low dev costs, subsidized by MS, target crowd is all on 360). But there is only one reason 5pb goes 360 only- they are 360 fanbois. They have denounced the PS3 as only a media player and not a real game machine since no one buys games on it, so they don’t see a point in making games for it.

The game doesn’t even have any lolis yet, has guys and girl characters, yet everyone is on the ‘hurr it’s just like the crappy Arcana Heart games.’ Typical stereotyping of a fighting game meathead. Go back to your manly 3-D Tekkens and Super Street Fighter IVs. This game wasn’t even made for you in the first place.

As a final comment, the game doesn’t look like its using sprites at all. The characters are too smooth. Looks like 3-D models in 2-D.

I shouldn’t be surprised that fighting meatheads are so ignorant of other genres, but damn.

so you join today only to insult the people that are interested on the game , pretty sure that its a duplicate account so im reporting you

Not really, you just fap to whatever is your fancy.

If by “high-class” you mean “generic eroge-based”.
You seem way too upset about this.

And stop saying “meatheads”, you’re making me remember Super Meat Boy hasn’t been released on PC yet and that makes me sad.

Too bad it’s not on the PS3, I’d import it.

Her art is at least less “generic” than the latest BB, MB, Arcana Heart, or whatever other 2-D flavor fighter of the week you meatheads work on.

Yeah, I don’t think people who go ‘hurr Memories Off fightan’ “hurr lolis” and “hurr Japan makes another fanservice all-girl fighter” are people who really show interest in the game. If those are the only people around here that show interest, I’ll insult them as much as I want: this game doesn’t need to attract those kind of people.

So instead of actual fighting game fans, the game only needs interest from people who know more about the artists than anybody else and lump everybody else in a single group? Not everybody here called it a loli fighter (The OP was joking, too). Apparently you’re too busy ragin and trollin to actually read properly.

I don’t blame people for getting caught up with character designs to the point that they’d refuse to play a fighter because of it, but do we really need to hear your displeasure about it? You should try to sympathize a little bit for the people who play these games, and understand how old it gets hearing these complaints. Hell, I don’t like anime or most of the character designs in these animu games, yet I still play them and won’t bitch about it. Just please save your breathe and keep it to yourself, thanks.

When it comes down to it, it’s not what the character looks like, it’s how their hitboxes are represented.

No, not just the artist. People who actually are know what the game is, and what the influences beside it are. This isn’t a normal fighting game by a normal fighting company, so if you meatheads are unable to understand the situation around it, then you don’t need to have an interest either. Because the game is not meant for you.

The game seems to have a simple fighting system setup, intense media/story, and creatively appealing characters. It’s plain as day to see that it isn’t a fighter targeted at you meatheads who spend 20 hours a day counting frames or subanalyzing Jin’s moves in BB, but more for casual fighters who want to experience an entire package without going through all the hassle of understanding complex systems and movelists.

That is why I couldn’t care less if you guys are interested in it or not. It’s not meant for you meatheads. If you have genuine interest, then become less ignorant about the game. If all you want to do is laugh and go ‘oh Japan,’ then gtfo.

Numerous people labeled and made sweeping generalizations about it in this very thread, don’t lie and say they’re not there. And no way the OP was joking, because making a completely incorrect assumption on a game based on simply 2 of the publishers current titles is the stupidest joke I’ve heard. I unfortunately have to assume the OP was ignorant and serious to make such a mistake.

I don’t really blame people either. People rag on Arcana Heart, BB and DoA all the time. But at least those are real serious fighting games, something you meatheads might be suited for, and the complaints levied against those games are legit.

ITT we have crap and misinformation spread from members who know jack about the game yet feel free to create labels for it.

If you plan to play this game, and are not close-minded about it. Power to you. I’m not addressing you people and you can keep quiet while I refer to the other meatheads who are enjoying making fun of their own ignorance.

lol, yeah its less generic…, go fuck with a goat dude, that maybe relax you

That’s infringement yo!

phantom breaker is serious business!

Should I take the bait?

…hmm, OK, I’ll bite just this once. Let’s give this one a whirl then, shall we?

And I suppose you’re the best to judge who this game is meant for or not, huh (BTW, just a small note, but calling people meatheads straight off the bat doesn’t exactly put you in the most positive of lights).

It’s a fighting game in a fighting game forum. People will come here either to troll or to look in out of pure curiosity. It doesn’t matter who made the game or what the situation is behind its conception - if it has appeal, people will be interested. You can’t stop casual interest from forming.

OK, I’ll put up my hands and apologise for calling it an “all-girl fighter” without being more informed about it. However, there’s no need to rage on people who have only a passing interest. Not everyone will get onboard a game from the get-go, especially if there isn’t a lot of information out there in the public domain about it (a few Famitsu scans, a short Famitsu online article and a placeholder website), but they may come around once they see some footage. For many of us, it is about how the game plays - nice-looking presentation can only go so far for some.

And who’s to say that it won’t be a “serious fighter”? It’s down to the community, not the developers or publishers, to decide whether a fighting game has enough in it for them to take seriously. Heck, people take many fighting games with non-conventional and/or simplified controls and/or systems very seriously (Smash Bros. being a prime example).

On the whole “intense story and creatively appealing characters” side of things, you could argue that BlazBlue, amongst others in the past, attempted to do that already (with mixed results, mind you), so I wouldn’t put that as one of the things that would make this game unique compared to the “fighting games for meatheads”.

…and these complaints are legit in these games because…? And it won’t apply to this game because…? Don’t make assumptions when we haven’t even seen a single second of how it plays, some of us haven’t (yet).

Aside from the trolls (who will do continue, no matter how many times you rage at them), there are some people here who want to keep tabs on this game if it turns out to be good and fun to play.

May I suggest you please calm down and let everyone find out about this game in their own way? There’s no need to preach to people how this game will be different from the rest and that people who aren’t genuinely interested should leave right away. There will always be people who have their mind made up already, while there are quite a few people here who already know what it’s like to play these niche fighting games, so it’s not as if we don’t fully understand your sentiments. You just didn’t need to be so aggressive about it.

O-O~

If that is an implication that I am a troll, then you need not bother to reply to me if you feel you’re wasting your time. But my aggression and disappointment at this board is genuine.

As a fan of niche 360 games and a fan of 5pb, I follow them closely and I know very well the moves they make and the reasoning behind them. And I can definitely say that this fighter is not for category of ignorant and assuming people I mentioned above.

There’s a difference between passing interest, and presenting something like a sideshow to be laughed at. The TC and multiple subsequent replies proved more than enough to me that you meatheads are clueless about this game and are not interested in anything about it beyond laughing at it.

If that’s the kind of interest that’s supposed to be forming, then I’m going to step up and give my piece of mind. Because the game doesn’t need to be criticized by the likes of you, it’s not meant for you, and it will do fine without your interest.

I make the situation analogous to people looking at BB in passing and calling it a ‘lol GG clone’ and people looking at AH or MB and going ‘lol anime fighters.’ Of course, those games have cred among you meatheads because they’re fighting games from supposedly respectable companies, while everyone seems to enjoy the free-for-all mud slinging around this here thread.

No excuse for the labeling and assumptions I’ve seen in this thread.

I say that because that is the objective of 5pb themselves. Make a simplified fighter for the casuals. Whether an extreme faction of meatheads take it up and makes it an in-depth effort is up to them, but that’s not the audience this game is shooting for.

BlazBlue is the step in the right direction, but ASW’s primary strengths are not design and story and media. Those are 5pbs strengths. Of course, this is all relative, and I expect the next meathead to go ‘hurr those hentai games sure are deep’ and consider it a witty retort, so I won’t bother going any further into this.

Because those games have those characteristics. You can attack DoA as a boob fighter because that’s what it is. You can attack AH on its all-girl loli cast, because that’s what it has. All the attacks on Phantom Breaker thus far have come from posters who pull their assumptions from the place where the sun don’t shine.

Good for those people. They should stay away from this garbage of a thread then and find out about the game for themselves through fairer channels.

A thread that inaccurately represents a game and pulls false accusations usually does that to people.

Would you like it if someone started an AH3 topic calling it a hentai boob fighter and point out the ‘juggling’ animation and character costumes to judge the entire game on?

you really like the word ‘meatheads’ dont you?

Yes really.

If Super had a maid with like, broken glass bottles as a weapon then the game would be a billion times cooler.
