Petition for arcade release of SSF4

although, i haven’t been to an arcade in over a decade, don’t give a crap about top Japanese players, tournaments and reduced to playing laggy games of SF on console. i still have much love for arcades wherever they may be. Petition signed.

Anyone who wants to be*** good*** at the game isn’t going to be bank rolling a mere 100 yen…

Or 10000 for that matter.

Signing this. If there’s no arcade release, I’ll stick to VF5R and BBCS, even though I think the latter is going to be broken as shit lol.

That requires thought?

It sucks for the 5 arcades that still have a community in the US. With that said yall are being mad selfish.

Its clear now that I think about it that there wouldn’t be a update to the arcade game itself, because** it didnt make enough money to warrant it.** Where as console sells of the game did.

If I was Ono I’d prob call it quits after ssfiv arcade or console. With all the nagging, the man is obviously doing what he can, and what he got was a deal to make a console update.

Sf4 has just been doing ok in japanese arcades, and there are only a handful of arcades in the US. Why would they make another one for arcades when they really didn’t want to do sf4 in the 1st place? Not only that sf4 is only doing mediocre by Japanese arcade standards.

And fighting to get ssfiv in Japanese arcades so i can watch Japanese players play is lol’able. More so because they still can get it on console.

Its really like japan fighting to get ssfiv on console so we can play. Its really lol material… You can say your fighting for your arcade scene, but if your arcade scene dies because ssfiv is released on console. Its been dead.

Time for America to catch up to Japan

This.

So.Very.This.

I don’t know if anyone else noticed this, but during the interview, when Ono was talking about it being console only, he mentioned the 360 prior to the PS3. Perhaps it was politicking, but it would seem to indicate that the mindset behind the SSF4 endeavor is not one which is taking the Japanese audience as its first consideration.

You guys realize that Ono is a pathological liar and bullshitter, right?

All I know is when Soul Calibur stopped being made for arcades it started sucking. If that was the reason I don’t know, but 3 and 4 were both originally console games and they pale in comparison to 1 and 2.

I want an arcade release.

No arcade realease? That’s pretty surprising but yeah like deli said ono is a fucking liar won’t believe it til next year and still no arcade version.

Personally, I won’t care as long as most of the U.S takes Super seriously. If Japan doesn’t take Super seriously, we’re bound to lose some top players here as well. There won’t be as huge a community as there was (and still is) for SF4.

This is going to be confusing as hell for the tournament scene, the last thing we want is a major divide in the player base because of this. PLEASE CAPCOM, release Super Street Fighter IV in arcades!

Two things:

  1. I’ve looked through a few Japanese message boards and this seems to be less of a topic than it is here. Maybe I’ve just looked in the wrong places, but it seems kinda ironic.

  2. http://blog-imgs-35-origin.fc2.com/n/i/d/nidasoku/411760.jpg
Here Ono says that he is sorry that he can’t give all the arcade-fans who have supported the game so much a proper answer right now, he’s going to talk about it in the future. So yeah. Doesn’t sound quite as definite as that voice-over now does it?

That’s like saying the rest of the teams in Major League Baseball wouldn’t be stoked and would probably stop playing if the Yankees suddenly went bankrupt.

You mean like the divide that currently exists, already? There’s probably roughly a dozen SFIV cabs in the United States. I want to know how this is going to be “devastating for the scene,” or “create a major divide.”

Some dude from bumfuck, nowhere, USA was actually in here saying it was a slap in his face that Capcom isn’t going to release the game in the arcade in Japan. Are you fucking kidding me?

signed!!!

i’m lol’ing over here… you copy pasted this into this thread cause you knew i wouldnt answer it in the other one??? haha too funny!

but you DO have a point, problem is that it is a SMALL one, if you are only planning on playing the game once or twice, you really dont matter. if however you were planning on actually getting good at the game… let me tell you your going to be spending MORE to get good at it, at the arcade, than you would if you were playing console… seriously your argument is like someone whos contemplating renting a car for $50 a day for the next 5 years versus someone who just flat out buys one and makes regular payments on it… just because its initially easier to afford the 50 smacks…

now who has the stupid idea???

y’know what?

this is exactly what i was thinking, people are actually using japan as a needed TEACHER of high level tactics as a reason for there to be a console release… O MY FUCKING GOD… have any of you guys ever stopped to think that if we perhaps innovated some of OUR OWN SHIT, that they might be the ones that are following in OUR footsteps??? figuring out how to beat US?

WOW its like people are actually using the excuse of not being creative enough to make for a good argument for an arcade release so that they can plagiarize other peoples shit WITHOUT EVER HAVING COME UP WITH SHIT OF THERE OWN.

i will be the first to admit that i take the best tactics that i can find and use them, but i also innovate my own shit… WE DONT NEED THE JAPANESE… WE ARE GOOD OURSELVES. if we get good online play there will bwe a HUGE JUMP in tactics cause rather than 200 people from the 5 arcades left in america playing each other there will be 1,000,000 people to play against… there will never be a matchup that you dont know cause the character isnt used enough… there are people out there that main vega and are really good with him… its alot easier to access these people from bumfuck nowhere if there is good online play.

That’s like saying the Yankees are worth something.

lol

Jumping ahead of yourself, aren’t you parabellum?

Has anyone who can speak the language actually gone onto the Japanese forums to get an idea of what they are thinking at this moment? Pretty curious to know.

i dont see why capcom would neglet the arcade i mean damn…

Im down.
