Petition for arcade release of SSF4

Reading the language ain’t the same as thinking it.

i can see why a Console only release is warranted, but the problem here is that you’re potentially shutting off the game to one of the biggest competitive scenes in the world, and I’m sorry but that’s fairly bullshit.

If they can release Hyper Street Fighter 2 Anniversary edition in arcades, they can release this one. As far as I know that was no where NEAR as popular as this game is.

That being said, at least the man is trying. If we say something about this, it’ll get heard. Capcom’s listened to a great deal of us in the past, so if this is a big enough issue, I’m sure it’ll get resolved.

i’ve only read the first post in this thread so sorry if this has already been pointed out in the 25+ replies that have already happened. however:

where has it been confirmed that this isn’t being released in arcades?

just because it is straight to console release doesn’t mean it won’t be in arcades too. does it?

Since you’re not the only one to ignore/overlook my post, I’ll quote it again:

Well… if it’s not going to hurt SSFIV console development in ANY way… why not? I mean could only be better not worse! and yes nothings better than playing a fighting game on an arcade… it’s the way it’s meant to be played >.>"nvidia"
edit: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=7576191&postcount=63 said it all TBH.

please capcom give ssf4 an arcade release like youve done with so many great titles

Oh man, I didn’t even know Ono actually said there wouldn’t be one.

This is bad… :frowning:

Of course! Need it at arcades, otherwise it loses some magic, that and hella people in Cali are gonna be mad as fuck.

Wow, I can understand our better American players saying that they don’t care if SSFIV gets released in Japanese arcades or not. But our scrubs? STFU and watch, please. Scrubs in Japan>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Scrubs over here, by aeons.

edit: And that’s the reality of it. No bias on either side. Keep it real.

+1

I’ll buy and play the game, but it’ll be like winning a vacated boxing title by default. Not cool.

Oh god…here it comes…

RtVIhDgo_uU"]**CALIFORNIA RAGE’IN ON SUCH A WINTERS DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY[/B!

after finding the ono video i am pretty surprised that there isn’t going to be an arcade verison.

what would be the reasoning behind this?

not worth the time? the money? the effort?

i don’t see why they couldn’t use the existing sf4 arcade stuff and some how just give it an update?

Mike Ross “BELIEVE” would not have happened at a console tournament.

The arcade scene is just such a different beast. Capcom really needs to reconsider this decision.

It’s sad guys, but arcades are officially done for. The face to face social interaction will be missed but social interaction can be done as well over Xbox live or PSN, or go to somebody’s house. How any people actually have close access to an arcade (let alone with SF4)? Like 0.000001%. If Japan is too slow to accept change then they can’ be helped. Maybe Capcom can use the extra resources to make online play as good as local.

Signed.

Losing Japans arcade scene is a bad thing. With the rate of playing they have they unearth more of the game at a blinding pace next to the rest of us. Arturo was saying he’s seeing all manner of subtleties to matchups that he had little understanding of from the competition in the US scene.

You can see the difference made by arcade scene in the quality of tactics used by console characters against arcade characters. We’re still in the midst of grasping what the console characters are potentially worth by the end of it, and we’d be at the same rates with the arcade characters if not for the arcades in here and Japan to gather tactics from.

The game is better for the wealth of depth, knowledge and tactics it has. Even if it means Japan stays number 1.

honestly i think they’re yanking our chains about no arcade release.

if it doesnt come out for arcade i’ll be furious.

sfiv could have been a popular arcade game in america if they gave it a shot.

need arcade release

The arcade scene still remain a niche market.Maybe not in japan but i doubt there’s 4 millions of North American and European going weekly at their local arcade to play street fighter 4.

I don’t see myself coming back home at 11 pm each day and telling my wife and kids

-Sorry i was playing some sf4 and wasted my pay check on da machine …It’s a strong community too!

It’s a niche Market .Sure it’s fun watching the pro play etcand for the few that can participate they prob have a blast. But that a very small % of who contribute to capcom bank account.

sure I am with you. We need the best of the best to play these characters. They might even make quite a profit if they put it to an arcade version.

But it probably gonna be like SC3 and SC3 arcade edition that came after SC3.
