Your percentage is missing approximately a billion decimal places between the decimal point and the 1.

Just saying…

While I agree with your point of view, the idea that going to an arcade to play a video game some how makes you cool and gets you laid is pretty hilarious and makes you come across as a 14 year old.

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! I said nothing about that, only stated that he does in fact own the console version and that so do other Japanese top players, that’s all.

Yeb mains Gen, a console exclusive character, in a part of california without any arcades.

Agreed 100%.

That’s not a particularly good analogy because Yeb is from San Diego. San Diego is home to The Box Arena, which is a Street Fighter community that gets together to play casuals all the time.

Not everyone is a part of that kind of community, and in a lot of areas of the country those communities simply don’t exist outside of arcades.

Sorry for the double post.

This is exactly the kind of mindset that always puts the Americans behind the Japanese in fighting games.

A petition by a bunch of (mostly) Americans for a arcade release that would for the most part would only see the light of day in Japan is laughable, at best.

I am with this but I want my SSF4. Ono is fucking around I am sure arcade release is going to happen. Not trying to sound salty at all but an Arcade release really does not help or hurt me because I know that the DC area will not get one. I would love to play it in the arcade hell I got my chops playing in the arcade up in Puyallap(spelling) back in the day. I think if push comes to shove somebody will build a cab and throw it up in the arcade if they want it bad enough.

How? Japan got SF4 before we did, so they got to play it before we did, so they got to learn it before we did. Had we not watched videos of them playing it before we were able to play it, we would have had to spend the same amount of time as they did discovering basic techniques, which would have left us even farther behind.

Nah I know you aren’t disagreeing with me. I just didn’t know he played console is all.

I do know that there are plenty of really good players that don’t own a console though.

I’m trying to figure out why this topic was made…

We still don’t know the entire details of SSFIV, so why are we already assuming there won’t be an arcade release?

Capcom knows Japan’s arcade scene is still very much alive, and they know an arcade release would be the best thing possible over there. I don’t think they’re actually that stupid.

while san diego doesn’t have any good arcades. i wouldn’t really say we’re in a part of california without any arcades.

it’s fairly easy for us to drive to LA where there is a very strong arcade community.

and we constantly play with LA arcade players either online, or when they drive down to san diego or visa versa etc…

so actually while most san diego players didn’t learn sf4 in the arcades we still benefit greatly from the arcade scene in socal.

No arcade release would be disastrous for the scene here. It would also be a giant slap in the face to all the arcade operators who through down the cash to pick up vanilla.

Oh look, I don’t live in Japan, and I care.

I was very disappointed and I wasn’t even thinking about Japan. Not having an arcade release will gut/split my local playerbase. Yes we have console events and console meetups, but having an arcade allows you to play lag-free, competitive games on your own schedule. Removing that doesn’t prevent you from getting good, but it is another barrier.

And considering the turnout to the local Arcade SF4 tourneys these days,at least one local Arcade owner is going to be pretty disappointed too.

Man I hope you guys get it in China man. I am sure capcom will drop it in the Arcade.

I asked the same question,

Straight from Yoshinori Ono’s mouth.

ok, and now anyone who want to play the game have to buy console, rather than just pay for 100 yen or 50 cents or whatevar for 1 plain game, nice…

SUPER brilliant idea

Definitely need an Arcade release for this!

But it should be reasonably priced and released for import at the same time as it is released in Japan, none of this headstart BS.
