Where did you hear about this new interview?
i found it randomly on famitsu. it released today. it’s in the new info thread

Great post, I’ve been saying this exact same thing throughout the thread.
Well said. When my rep giving resets, you’re getting some
As poonage pointed out, its probably really hard to make SSF4 without an arcade release, since that is the system it was originally developed for. If they were implementing some never before seen online system with perfect replays and lobbies and spectators and live input and more, and then basing the entire game around it, then ok maybe it would be hard to port that to arcade… but AFAIK Thawk and Dee Jay were already made for the arcade version, and the entire game was originally made for arcades, so I call BS.
The upsetting part is how this aspect of the game is taking the focus away from things that are critical to the longevity of the game in the US market, and putting those resources on getting them to click the checkbox to make the arcade version.
Maybe this is intended as a diversion? not sure, but it’s sad that the arcade issue is dominating the SSF4 discussion. It would be infuriating if sometime later we hear “we’re making an arcade version, it takes so much time so we can’t make the online play good”.
Because it takes the focus away from other issues, and puts the focus on issues that Capcom can easily control, if it takes them no work to implement an arcade port, and it takes all of the internet’s time to convince them to do so, then they have total control:
“So are there going to be improvements to the online system and lobbies”
“YO LOOK AT THAWK HES SO HUGE AND TWIRLS YOU AROUND AND SITS ON YOU (btw we had him in the game hidden for the past 2 years), oh, and we are listening to the community and look forward to working with them”
“So how are you going to address X,Y,Z?”
"… … … so yeah did i say there was NO ARCADE VERSION, thats right fanboys, all your heroes are going to die, now rush to your keyboards!"
I don’t think anyone is really against an arcade release, I think we are upset that it was made out to be a huge issue that needed a call to action from our community, when it seems like such a simple thing that already has a much larger community to care about it.
While on the flipside, we are the only group that is going to push for our issues for the console version, so having us also try to fight for an arcade release cause ono said to seems like a waste of our resources.
How many sigs does the petition have now? Make the arcade release of SSFIV HAPPEN!
signed.
it just makes me feel warm and fuzzy knowing that the game is being taken seriously by both japan and america.
petitions are pretty meaningless imo
if ono said there’s no arcade version then just accept the fate.
I’ll sign, if for no other reason than mere principal. There should never be a Street Fighter game without an arcade counterpart, ever. Ever.
I don’t think the promise of more YouTube videos is going to persuade anyone who’s not already interested
So is there any update on whether or not this is possible? Has Ono said anything about it lately?
Am I out of order for thinking that the reason why Japanese players are usually so good is because they get to play the game so much earlier than their counterparts in other countries?
I’m pretty sure high level play will develop just fine on the console. It’s not like every single game played will be online. Talented players will meet with talented players and pick the game apart and figure out all types of tricks, and youtube it. Don’t fret.
Arcade players should be pissed for community reasons, but the “we need to see what the Japanese are doing in the arcades to learn how to play” seems a little knobslobberish. If the Arcade heavy guys are interested in the game, I’m sure they’ll find a work around.
**Man ya’ll need to let that shit go. Seriously.
If it that’s serious to you, buy some wood and an extra console and make your own cabinet.**
**That’s bullshit.
You can watch SBO and Godgarden (two console tourneys) on Youtube . Right?
And the Japanese don’t give a shit about the console characters. Americans are the only ones giving them a shot.**
SBO, a console tourney?
OMG, I don’t know what to say…
I nominate the above post for “Dumbest Post of the Year”.
O. Red is just a troll. Dude hates ST. Enough said.
Is there any news or developments on this?
450 signatures.
Thanks everyone.
**
I thought SBO was console this year.
Oh well.
My point still stands…**
**WTF is a troll?
And fuck ST…**
If this really doesn’t get an arcade release I can see SBO and the big Jap tournaments not including SSF4 at all and instead keeping SF4 as the main game.
Not a big deal for me since in the end I play to have fun, Street Fighter isn’t much of a spectator sport for me anyways…
