PC Specs Thread - We're out of beta now

Fighting games are more GPU depended, CPU doesnt have to be top notch to run them.

Thanks for the numbers, and I think you are right as many cards underclock for iv.

Awesome, glad u posted that, I have an old athlon II 645 3.1 quad and just got a gtx 960 so that is the closest spec to mine I’ve seen so far!!

What resolution? Hoping 1080p

Depends on your monitor. I would try 1080p and adjust graphical settings untill you get the performance you want.

A 960 is more than enough GPU to run the game. Just make sure your ram is high and fast enough.

1080p the cpu wasnt even at 50%

Great, I won’t even bother trying to flash my bios to oc my CPU. Good info on CPU usage.

I’m curious how that machine you have does in the firestrike benchmark from 3dmark demo Ever run it? its on steam.

Either way thanks for the posts, I’m pretty confident ill be good on ultra now.

FYI
worked great on best “recommended” settings!

Autotune also set all to max, so hype to play more characters next beta!

new settings for alienware alpha:

resolution 1080p
res scaling: 80
display depth: high
AA: high
PP: low
shadow: high
texture: high
effects: high

the res scaling is the one that takes all the resources and also no slowdown in corners now.

During the latest stress test did anyone notice if the game is more optimized than last time?

I dont think so, tried bumb up the settings a bit and it still performed the same. Actually I think it looked better but the brazil stage bg characters looked so bad.

Processor: Amd FX 6300 3.50GHz
Installed memory(RAM): 12GB
Resolution: 1920X1080P
Graphics card: Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB Dual-X OC

All settings were set to Medium and i was getting 60fps and it never dropped below 56fps. I’m fairly positive i could raise the settings higher with no issues but i was very happy with the graphics as is.

Seems crazy, but did anyone else prefer the look of the game on high over recommended?

Had solid fps on all, but something about the lower high setting looked more uniform throughout…

I also thought 99 res scaling looked slightly better than 100.

Maybe just personal preference

Intel Core i5-4690 3.5Ghz
8gb RAM
GeForce GTX 750Ti

I believe I’ll be able to run it smoothly at 60fps and 1080p at mid settings. I’m planing to upgrade the GPU to a GTX 960 or 970 next year depending on budget and other games I’m interested in playing.

However for the purpose of SF5 alone, would a 960 be enough to run it smoothly at max settings? Or should I play it safe and go for the 970 straight out?

960 is more than enough if you arent going higher than 1080p.

I was under the impression that High was the maxed out option and Recommended either set your graphics for you depending on your hardware or is something otherwise not maxed out.

Res scaling should (theoretically) always look better at 100 than 99 as 99 will produce repeated pixels somewhere. Could be placebo or just a bug if you feel 99 looks better.

Hallo guys,
as I am not so smart when it comes to computer specs & co. I’d like to have your help hier.
My PC (with the Specs below) can run SFV Beta pretty nice - so I think - as long as it is not 1080 and the options are set to mid and/or low. And I only have “real” problems when going to the Forgotten Waterfall area.
[] AMD FX™-6300 Six-Core 3520 MHz
[
] 8.192 MB

Nvidia GeForce GTX 650Ti
(I hope I posted all the needed info)

My question is, can I simply buy another NVidia Card to replace that one? Or when changing the Graphics Card, should I also change other things?
The Card could/would be one of these:

  • GeForce GTX750 Superclocked 2 GB GDDR5-RAM PCIe x16 DVI…
  • GeForce GTX750 Superclocked 1 GB GDDR5-RAM DVI, HDMI…
  • GeForce GTX750 Ti 2 GB GDDR5-RAM HDMI™, DVI…
  • GeForce GTX750 Overclocked 2 GB GDDR5-RAM PCIe x16 DVI…
(Which one should I get, if I ever do it?)

Thanks a lot in Advance.

EDIT:
And the question, with one of the Cards above would I be able to run it in 1080 with mid settings?

Yes you can. 750 ti is the best out of those and can get you medium settings at 1080p with some frame drops in cinematic situations (nothing affecting gameplay). Very close to (if not equal) to PS4 performance. That being said going from a 650 ti to just a 750 ti is pretty expensive for a minor bump if you can’t sell off the 650. This may be your only upgrade but in general keep in mind that doing minor incremental upgrades like this continuously is a huge waste of money compared to just getting 1 nicer card for a longer period of time. I would honestly recommend spending at least $35-40 extra for a 950 as that is really the “current” budget card and will be far better in consistency. You shouldn’t upgrade until you’re going to actually start playing SF5, though. Wait until February to buy a GPU as prices and choices will likely be better by then. The best time to buy/upgrade a PC is when you’re actually gonna use it.

Thank you a lot for you answer, Swarn.
But wouldn’t be a 950 too strong for my computer?
My “fear” is that, once I buy such a strong card as the 950 I will also need to buy some other parts for the computer.

what are you guys paying for these budget cards? I got a used msi 760 for 110 of ebay. If you aren’t opposed to buying used from reputable sellers, go the ebay route man.

950 isnt that strong, its the lower end of the 900 serie, but its still enough to play @ 1080p medium/high
