In SF4 I can jack everything up, jack even more stuff up using my graphics card settings and still get an easy A and stream the game on top of that.
In SF5 Max settings gets me drops and if I start streaming it’s going to medium.
I had my own technical question too, for anyone with a multi monitor setup have you noticed that even in fullscreen the game seems to be just fine with you using your other monitor like it’s no big deal? What’s up with that?
I have a PS4 at home. I work in the mining industry ( away from home) so the benefits of a laptop are double that of a tower.
I did look at the prices of desktops in comparison out of interest. For Australia it’s going to cost me as much if not a little more to get a rig with a desktop 960 inside as it will for the equivalent laptop. Cheapest tower I could find that was half decent was around 1700 add monitor , mouse, keyboard etc I’m over 2 grand easy. The Alienware is 2250 - 2400.
I’ve played Ultra on a laptop for years and it was fine. I don’t really have an option.
I have a strong feeling I can run the game, but it will look gross. More than likely will need the resolution scaling somewhere under 50 with all settings on min. Just a hunch.
The Alienware with a 970m can run full specs. I’ve checked and there’s a YouTube test also. Laptops get a bit of grief for some reason , but they are well capable machines.
Any idea of what laptop(s) can run SFV at lowest settings? I’m not really in the position to get a desktop or PS4, but at the same time, I don’t care too much about how the game looks graphics-wise.
My current laptop only has a GT750M , the rest of the specs are pretty good but that card is quite rubbish. Runs 60fps constant in 1080 on low settings. I have an I7 though and decent ram.
Honestly I don’t think you need much to run this game in low. Not since the last beta where they seemed to optimise it better.
Anything with a half decent card in the last 2-3 years will prob run it. I have to say though it looks pretty bollocks in low setting.
Admittedly I don’t know much about Australia’s computer market, but Alienware can’t be the cheapest tower you can find down their. They’re like the Apple of PC builders; you’re overpaying for a cool/name look.
Most important when building your own is make sure you got at least 2 gigs of vram. and I would just be safe and aim for a 760 or 670 just to be on the safe side. There have been a few in this thread that had less then favorable outcomes with a 750ti.
I ran it 60fps on high settings with 4-6 frame drops here and there
60fps on medium settings 3-4 frame drops
of course frame drops are not ideal in a fighting game and I don’t recommend it but if you want budget then there’s your budget
There are videos of
i3 2100
6gb
750ti oc
that run the game 60fps medium and high with a bit tweaking of the settings
I honestly think the 750ti runs perfectly fine
It’s the ram and processor that will help
