PC Specs Thread - We're out of beta now

Hard to say for sure but might get 60fps-ish at low settings at 720p imo. I think steam has a money back garantee anyway if the game runs like shit. Google it.

With plan to play SFV and to renew my old computer I took an average one to save money :

Windows 10 Home
Intel® Core™ i5-6500 (4Core/3.20GHz/3.60GHz/6MB)
8GB Ram [ 8GB×1 (DDR3L SDRAM PC3-12800) ]
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX750

But fuck…I expected much more better from it.
Laggy as hell on high setting I had to put everything at middle and to give up on 1080.

The game is more beautiful even on a PS4 than with my setting so I am kind of disappointed and would like to fix that.

My computer specs seems higher than this, (apart for the memory) but I can’t run the game even at 60% of the full capacity.

What you guys advice me to upgrade to be able to play on very high setting (and eventually to be able to twitch or record match as the same time on a second screen) ?
More Ram (16GB) ?
Change the graphic card (gtx960 or gtx970) ?

Core i7 950 8MB 3.06 GHz
GTX 560 Ti 2GB GDDR5
1440x960
12GB Corsair DDR3

Runs okay-ish on 50 scaling with everything else on Low. Will stutter on Waterfall stage or on complex effects like Bison’s psycho power stuff.

Would a better graphics card solve my issues? Looking at either a 760 or a 960? Please recommend as I know f**k all about PCs.

Depending on how much money you can spare:
GTX 950 (overclocked) <= GTX 960 < AMD R9 380 << GTX 970

And/or save up for AMD Polaris / nVidia Pascal later in the year.

At what settings is the game comparable to the PS4?

1080p all med looks pretty much the same as PS4 to me.

What does resolution scaling do?

Lower your resolution.

His GPU is much faster than yours. A GTX 680 is an old high end card that’s roughly as fast the GTX 960. Your GTX 750 is a low-end card that you need to change if you want decent performance. This is a good list to look at to get an idea of the relative performance of different cards: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html To meet SFV’s “recommended” GPU power there are a ton of different cards you can get, especially if you also look at the used market. Streaming while playing is something that I’m not at all familiar with so I can’t comment on that.

Why would anyone buy a 750 over 750ti. lol

In fairness, if you’re new to GPUs you wouldn’t know that nVidia’s “Ti” cards are better/enhanced versions of older models.

It sounds like he bought a prebuilt computer, otherwise you probably wouldn’t end up with a 750. The good news is that the CPU is pretty solid so he’ll be more than fine after a GPU upgrade.

True, could be a pre-built too. My bad. lol

That was short and sweet. But I did try just now at 1280x720 and it looks great! I mean, not super great, but certainly playable and better than USF4 for example. Thanks, you just saved me a lot of money!

Sorry wrong account

Thanks for the link and explanations.
It was indeed a prebuild to save time and money. Had no idea the 750 was so shitty.
That beta was very usefull to test our specs.
In fact the game still run beautiful with my 750 but it will be hard to keep my wallet in my pocket after seing the game running at max specs :o

Question. I’m going to take the plunge and assume this whole experience is going to be better on PC than Playstation. Problem is I want mobile and I’m due for a new laptop. I’ve been eye balling the Alienware R17 which comes with a GTX970M - I’m assuming that rig will rip through this game like Chun Li’s legs at a bucks party ( at least looking around the web, it looks like a well equipped card)

Although, does anyone (or has anyone) tested the game on a GTX965M or a 960M? When I start to look at laptops with this card, the price starts to get attractive and I’m wondering if the cash is worth that upgrade (to the 970M). I pretty much only play SF5 and a splash of Fallout.

Tower is not an option. Thoughts?

GTX 970m is ~95% as powerful as desktop GTX 960 (the recommended card for SFV), so I wouldn’t go lower than that.
MSI & Asus ROG are good alternatives to Alienware.

Whichever you decide to, ask yourself how often you REALLY will be gaming on-the-road, since you can build a pretty small desktop with much more power for the same money.
If you still want to go laptop, read reviews and make sure you get one with a good screen (don’t only look at pixel count).

My gut reaction is to just tell you to avoid laptops for gaming.

If you don’t want a tower, you’re probably better off just getting a PS4.

Here is my benchmarking with USFIV.

Do you think I’ll be able to run USFV without issue?

I am worried about my GPU. I have a Radeon R7 240 with 2GB of DDR3
