Patch coming for the lag

I, too, have wondered this about Tekken. I would be very interested in checking that out.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the mo-cap for Alisa’s u/f+1+2.

am I in the right thread?

You are, I just inadvertently derailed it with a rant about consoles and their fanbois. Sorry about that. Back on topic, does anyone think this game is going to be playable even with SF4-tier netcoding? Tekken works a little differently, and I’m wondering how it’s going to play once it’s “fixed” since this game is all about frame data and it seems like any input lag would destroy the game. I never played DR online because I didn’t like the game and don’t own a PS3, so i have no experiences to reference. Good? Bad? Ugly?

That’s why they should look at non input delay type netcode. SFIV isn’t a great way to do it either.

Yeah, I was using SF4 as the middle ground, not the gold standard or anything. I think GGPO is obviously the thing to use, but we all know that ain’t gonna happen. I just hope they try to implement something similar. I’d think these companies would have to start looking hard at BB’s style of network play if they’re unwilling to pay for the rights to use GGPO. I need online play at this point because I have no offline competition. I keep hearing how this town (Atlanta) is full of some of the best players around, but I haven’t met anyone who plays this shit yet. Please fix this game Namco.

Yeah, seriously. This is one of the reasons why I love this game. So many goddamn characters. It’s so balanced and I can’t even pick a main. I like a bunch of characters.

I wanna see the motion capture for Kazuya’s B+1+4, LOL. Think about it.

ATL has the Tekken House man… Go to TZ and go to the match finder! There are seriously tons of tekken players in ATL.

Thanks, I’ll try that. I need to play real people again before my head asplodes. I know imma get ownt at first, cause I haven’t played serious tekken since TTT, but I relish the challenge of re-leveling my game.

On a side note, I got the first rage color using the roulette trick in ten minutes so I fully expected for that to happen again last night for round 2. BWAHAHAHA! I tried for two hours to get that bitch and got NOTHING. Without the trick, I don’t even want to know how long this shit would take.

i wanna see the mocap for allisa’s 1+2 throw, that would be epic.

I have DR on the PS3 and the lag on that was pretty bad.

How about Zafinas mo cap, that shit looked hot.

first off, where did i talk about console exclusivity? where?

reread this until you understand it:

instead of rushing to a conclusion based on nothing but your own thoughts, you should ask what i meant in my last post or at least comprehend what you read.

yes, i think its BULLSHIT that the game was running on a ps3, basically, and then they downgraded or whatever the fuck they did so that xbox users could be happy, at the expense of ps3 owners, yes. yes, i do.

does this have to do with console exclusivity, however? no.

this has to do with long load times. the game doesn’t have long load times in the arcade.
**
i’m 100% sure that they could have put this on xbox 360 and the ps3 without the long load times but instead they did a half assed port.**

i don’t know if it was the rush to put it on the xbox 360 or all of the effort that they put into scenario campaign that took them off of what they should have been focusing on which is a FAST experience both online and off and a better experience when it comes to the lack of lag online.

this is not a fanboy talking. i don’t give a fk who owns what. all i know is that both xbox and ps3 users have long load times and online is unplayable.

then other shit like the 1st dan shit irks me. the fact that it seems like the entire scenario campaign was forced AND the fact that its garbage. the fact that there are no character endings in arcade mode seemingly because they forced scenario on us. the fact that without namco’s focus on scenario, maybe the game would run faster in between fights and maybe we’d have a decent netcode. etc. etc.

so waste energy calling somebody else a fanboy, son.

Does anyone know how big a difference there is between the RPM of standard PS3 and 360 Hard drives compared to the System 357 Hard drive?
I can’t see it being big enough to explain the loading times on installed copies of the game, but it’s something to consider.

As for the Netcode, look at Blazblue, unplayable>patch>some of the best Netcode we’ve seen on Consoles, I’m at least looking forward to what Netcode Namco can provide, even though I probably shouldn’t do that a fourth time…

Actually the producer of Tekken has stated the game would be a big challenge to port on 360, claiming it was a disc space issue. Most developers limit the ps3 counterpart to 360 quality. This is the case for a lot of multi-platform titles. 360 can clearly handle T6 but disc space will always be an issue. Also note that T6 was a ps3 exclusive and when BR gets announced, they scrap T6 and decide to port BR then say it’s now multi-platform.

I do agree that all 3rd party games should be multi-platform. More sales and everyone gets to enjoy the game. Sadly it is not far from the truth that we got a port of the 360 game and not a port of the arcade version. Technically we can say it’s still Namco’s fault, and not 360. What I do find funny is how the XBOX games were always superior in most cases when compared to PS2. Now with the PS3 you would think we would get equal if not better ports but it rarely happens. Namco can’t say that the PS3 is hard to develop for because T6 is running on PS3 hardware in the arcades.

As far as the shitty netcode, it is inexcusable. They pretty much destroyed competition for anyone who lives in communities with no Tekken scene. On a side note, Tekken 6 as you all know is a great fighter so hopefully people visit there local arcades or gatherings to compete. If you live in a small town or an area with no comp I can’t help you there. >_>

yeah tottally agreed blazblue is very close to perfection in terms of netcode, thats the standard for games right now imo on console.

All this talk and no netcode fix. I’m going to guess another 2 weeks before this shit gets fixed.

The patch has been delayed till next week. Expect it before Thanksgiving.

Yeah, I agree that’s f’ed up, considering the companies have clearly switched roles when it comes to who has the more impressive hardware. I think that Sony should pony up the cash that it would take to make that happen (better ports) on some of the big third party titles to reward the customers that stuck with them through the first couple of years of the PS3’s life cycle. Kind of like what M$ did with GTA4 and the exclusive DLC. You guys that adopted early deserve it for shelling out $600 at launch and basically having to wait a year before there was a decent selection of, truly, great titles.

lol they prob found some more bugs.
