This deserved it’s own thread IMO. Apparently this patch will be separate from the patch for co-op scenario campaign.
The patch is going to have to be made of magic flying unicorns if it intends to fix this shit. I don’t think it’s possible without a complete overhaul.

They need to use the “GGPO” type of netcode, even if frames are dropped, teleporting is better than “i pressed punch thirty minutes ago, I don’t want to punch now I want to back up!”
Update… Tekkenbob on twitter(for those who don’t know, this was namco’s hype man on twitter for tekken 6) dropped an update about the coming patch…
If the S.C. update is slated for december, that means the lag patch will come this month more than likely.
Agreed but somehow I don’t see this happening, there seems to be a reluctance to use this type of netcode from the big companies (Cap/SNK etc), either that or they are unaware that this type of netcode has existed for over 10 years.
Although Capcom have no excuse, HDR used similar code.
Heres hoping the patch is good.

Omg, this is great… only if they really pull through with it and make it a success. With the game having good online capabilities, i dont have a single complaint, other then the fact I can’t choose who i vs in offline mode
I think they did that to try to eliminate counter-picking, but I can’t really say.
Praying that 2p customs gets snuck into this patch.
ehhh, i can’t really agree at all with you, because it makes no sense of how so many fighting games dont have that feature. MVC2 as an example off the top of my head…
Urgh this is needed so badly, even trying to find people in the same damn country (which I think is smaller then some states but I’m not sure) is futile since the input lag is still bad enough to wreck any plans of juggling.
Damn, I hope Namco gives us a estimated release date for the patch!

I have dedicated all of my time to practicing blocking Kazuya’s U/F+4+4+4+4 in the heaviest of lag. My win ratio has skyrocketed.

i almost broke my ps3 ctrl and tv remote from a few games of online play, i see ppl with over hundreds of games played online, how the fuck can anyone stand playing in this lag?
