This is a quick list of things that I feel still need to get done for Northwest Majors. It is semi-prioritized.
Sorry it is so damn long.
Advertising- This is HUGE. We need to be constantly advertising all the time. Friends, family, anyone who you know who might be interested to come and participate in the tournament (the exception of course being shady people). We really need to get the word out. There are around 70 people who I know personally (including all of you) who would have real interest to come and compete. If you all tell one other person who only you know to come down, we can get an amazing turnout.
Meeting of Tournament Runners- If someone would like to step up and maybe take charge and be head tournament runner, then they could schedule a meeting with all of the other tournament runners and decide on whether or not the schedule needs to be changed, the rules they will follow for running the tourneys, do a refresher or a tutorial for all the people running brackets, and decide things like when to cut of late registrations.
Contacting Businesses and seeking sponsorships- I was sort of against this to start with because I didn’t want to just go around asking for handouts before we tried raising the money ourselves, but now I think it is a good way of establishing contacts in the community and making connections that could help us in the future. Once I get the letterhead made, we can start calling around to businesses and asking if we could meet with them to discuss the possibility of a sponsorship. If their is anyone who would volunteer to go with me when I meet with a few people, or anyone who feels comfortable going themselves, then by all means post up, and we can start to figure this out. It would be amazing if someone would like to help with this or take it on themselves.
Contacting all the People who offered to loan equipment- We need to get in contact with all of them and figure out when they are showing up, if we can get any stuff ahead of time, and then label all the equipment before the tournament so no ones stuff gets switched.
Questionaire- We need to make this up. It seems small but it could really come in handy for improving the next tournament. We should also try to get everyones email and ask for it on the questionaire so that we can email them all directly when we have the next tourney.
People to Help Julien Move his Egret Cabinet- He needs 3 people to volunteer to help move it (preferably the day before the tournament). I will volunteer to help so we only need 1 more person. Axel seemed alright with moving his.
Equipment-
- 360s- We have 2. If thats ok with VF players then its okay with me, but I think we should have more.
CVS2 Disks- We only have 1 which is loaded onto a PS2. If worse comes to worse, we will just use the dreamcast version, and people who wanted it on PS2 will just have to deal because of not bringing their own copies.
TV’s- We have 12 loaned. I would be happier with 16 and ideally we should have around 20 so we can have lots of set-ups for casual matches and still have plenty to run tournies.
We still need other stuff, but I have to go.
