I actually believe that’s what’ll be.
It’s pretty clear that at this point Capcom has the TvC team working on all VS titles, as terrible as that is, which would indicate to me that it will not be a VS title.

Also, I think we can expect more Alpha characters at some point. If I’m remembering correctly, R.Mika and Rolento were the two most speculated characters to be in Super before last September when the roster was leaked. I remember Ono saying Rolento was like at the top of the list, and he’d go around repping R.Mika shirts at various gaming events. Then right before Super launch I remember a rumour about Charlie being a secret boss character. That one seemed like bullshit to me as it wasn’t really sourced or anything, but now we have those three avs on PSN. Something’s up with that imo!
But definitely Namco vs. Capcom.
I dunno, it’s not the most reliable source. Namco vs. Capcom seems like a nearly impossible game to make and satisfy fans due to the 3D vs. 2D thing.

Either way, since UFO is also believing it’ll be a Namco Vs Capcom, that’s what it looks like it’s going to be.
I still do not understand how a good portion of SF characters (aka anybody with a projectile) will translate to a 3D engine. They’d be SO easy to sidestep. I said this in another thread where somebody suggested they might develop 2 games individually.
The Capcom version might work, although I don’t see how they’d put Tekken characters into 2D games given they all have like 50 moves, all of which are just punches and kicks, there are no special moves really in those games. I just don’t see how these would work outside of essentially being SF or Tekken with Tekken and SF skins respectively.
Half their moves would be launches with tons of juggle potential and also wall bounces.
That shit seriously doesn’t make sense. Tekken 6 is supposably in production, and they are making this as well? I’m calling total bogus on that article.
