I’m not up on my animation tech knowledge, but I don’t think their quite the same skill.
There’s no reason they couldn’t be in this day and age with digital rendering and colouring of most animations already a standard.
Animating a set of character moves at 30fps and then ‘importing’ the sprites in would be pretty straight forward. It’s effectively what KOF has done and that looks stunning.
Miyazaki produced fighting game would make brains explode. The shit would make 3s look stiff and jumpy and despite how much people hate that game, the animation is really pretty and fluid.
Technically he said it wasn’t one of the games being yelled out. He didn’t say it wasn’t any of the games being yelled out. In other words, it could be anything.

i don’t think tekken vs sf would be announced at a SFIV panel. The two companies would want a joint announcement so they can both appease shareholders.
Needless to say all ive been reading as of late on this announcement is it will be “Earth-shattering”. Capcom it better be or someone is getting cut.
