Online Yun hate is getting ridiculous

Or he can feint palm and punish your random jump with his ultra 1, which seemingly works well as an antiair, and then follow up with HP Lunge for even more damage.

Thats what I said, and even if you try to reversal uppercut when he meaty you, 50% it is trade hit.

Can you really blame casual players for getting angry at Yun though? To an outside observer that doesn’t dissect the game to the level we do here, he WILL seem like an unstoppable force of divekick rape. We ALL know Yun is bullshit, the difference between us and them is that we bother to find ways around it.

True, but we all know that its way harder to stop his rushdowns than it is to start them. Although most online Yun players are crappy and are easily stopped by solid anti-air play and blocking some more, if a skilled person uses him he gets more and more dangerous. Even in the Japanese arcade scene people are hating on Yun. They’re sick of fighting him, seeing Yun mirrors and some have stopped playing arcades because of this. Theres even some resentment towards players that arent that good but manage to beat pro’s by using Yun. If even the Japanese arcade scene cries out for nerfs then you know its time for a few.

I play Cody and I usually get “learn some combos, scrub” messages when I win.

Yesterday I got accused of “playing like a noob” because of running away in 5-5 match.
The guy I played is better player(I managed to with only once), but I really don’t see how Yun vs. Cody is 5-5.

only way i could see people complain about cody is the pressure game. even then thats just them being salty about no knowing what to do. I main balrog and sometimes that happens to me and I get salty, but never enough to talk trash. Yun is a fun character and I am not looking forward to the super sagat level neutering he will get in 2012 ae. all they need to do is add a few frames here and there and damage reductions. palm counter hit is just retarded.

If you press ANY button it should beat out ex.lunge punch, just saying.

there are a few character in the game that if you lost you to, you probably deserved it, cody being one of them, and yun not

I wish everyone would stop bitching about Yun…seriously, he’s OP to an extent, but he can be beaten. He’s not worse than Vanilla Ryu or Sagat. I honestly think people hate on Yun because it’s the “cool thing to do”…it’s merely some “everyone else is doing it, and I’m not good enough to learn him or execute his combos/links/strategies, so why don’t I join that boat”.

I couldn’t put time into anything I didn’t plan on getting good at…well…for the most part. I guess guys like us just take games a bit more seriously than others. Even then, Rufus had a dive kick too, and it raped the fuck out of my Vega.

Cammy’s far roundhouse owns Yun’s dive kicks. Beat it clean like 12 times in a match earlier. Couldn’t help but crack a smile.

Double post… Yuck. Anyway Yun is annoying but getting more beatable everyday.

…And you guys thought the Yun video was bad.

wut, vanilla ryu wasn’t OP. And Yun is way better than vanilla ryu. Ryu has never been top.

Vanilla Ryu’s ultra set-up made him OP because of how strong ultras were in Vanilla.

Ryu Ultra in Vanilla: 398
Ryu Ultra in AE: 369

Thats around 30 damage different. And when you see most high damage ultra in Vanilla (the 3 600 damage one, sagat, cammy, viper, Ken) reduce to 500, you know that the damage of the ultra is not much different.

Actually, one of the main different in damage is the SRK part. vanilla it is 160 + 80% of 398= 478. In AE, it is 80 + 80% of 369 = 375. That is why the damage look so bad, because of the 2 hit Shoryuken.

Uh, I’m pretty sure vanilla Ryu’s ultra did like 450-500 dmg.

I like fighting Yun players for a simple reason: He’s an interesting opponent that forces me to think. The interest I find is that he has so many options, therefore I have to fight the player controlling him not the character. If I know my opponent is prone to EX Lunging when at full screen, I can answer that. If I know when he likes to divekick, I can answer that too. I’ve heard a quote once that says “everything has a counter”. So it’s important to keep my eyes open during the match and absorb my opponent’s habits. I’m not good at it, but I want to be. Your mileage may vary of course depending on what you want to get out of the game. We all have our own definitions of “fun”. Could Yun be a more “balanced” character? Maybe. I’ll leave that to the developers to decide and then shape my own opinion. AE is fun but I liked how Super gave all char archetypes a chance one way or another.

As to the topic of the thread, I agree with a previous post that asked a good question: Why get salty over something somebody said over the internet about a game? People get like this when they lose. You do, I do, we all do. We’ve all said things in some shape or form during these moments, maybe in our minds or maybe even via in game message. Does it matter that much? If I were you, I’d see the fact that people are avoiding me as a compliment. It means you are strong against them and they fear you. It probably means you should be seeking better competition.

My 2 cents on the matter. Take it with a pinch of salt and all that jazz.

When I come across a Yun, I usually don’t even bother playing gouken.

Someone thats not good enough to learn and execute his combos/links/strats?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA! xD
I used him against a friend of mine knowing only his hit-confirms, the fact that his shoulder is safe and EX lunge godlike. Guess what, I won ez.
Yun hard bwuhahahahahha! xD
