The point that everyone seems to be missing (well, at least those crybabies that use this sweep “glitch” as an excuse) is that Yun’s sweep is SHIT. And I mean SHIT. Let me say it again, it is that bad, it is SHIT. It has shit range, shit startup and shit recovery. No one’s ever gonna use it, not even to fish for trades. If some of those scrubs actually tried to play Yun, they’d know that his sweep is probably his worst normal and one of the worst sweeps in the game.
Sorry for the “shits”, they were necessary to express my point.
To summarize: stop saying that Yun is OP because of this USELESS glitch (ever saw it done in 8 months?) and because scrubs look at Desk’s combo videos and rage after seeing him do 800 damage without considering that said combos need to have full super, full ultra, corner only, starting from a counterhit AA palm —> you’re never gonna see it used in a real match, IDIOTS.
As someone else said, DEAL WITH IT. I play fucking akuma and yun is my worst nightmare, yet i’m not bitching.
Just wait until we see top 32 or top 8 Evo filled with Yuns and Yangs. Then there’s sure to be lots more hatemail, and then maybe, hopefully, some nerfs or buffs or some sort of balance fix.
But I thought Yun was broken and overpowered? How can someone be playing the wrong character? I thought by you guys complaining that Yun is THE character to play for easy wins. Why not just state he’s a garbage player or better yet he’s mentally is of a zoner not rushdown?

I don’t understand the OP. There is nothing wrong with not fighting a Yun 3-4 times in a row. For some players, it’s not a fun experience even if you they know the matchup. As a DJ main, it’s not fun for me.
I dont have that big of a problem with Yun. I get bodied by him most of the time, but it isn’t like I dont have the option of selecting him too. I do think he is way too safe, you can literally just press buttons and do random specials and are still at frame advantage even on block lol.
Pretty much though when you sign up for a good character you need to expect hate, it is what you sign up for. When I signed up with Viper I realized that I would be getting hate for crazy gimmicks and burn kicks all day.
In the end who gives a shit. People will always have an opinion on certain characters. Just fucking play the game and have fun.
Saw this thread and I had to get in on this. I think Yun is kinda OP, however some of my reasons are a bit different. Here is why I think he is OP:

Due to this, a lot more Yuns get away with wins than if they were playing any of the Super characters. Not saying that Yun has a whole good pile of match ups that are in their favor but because he other players are still trying to figure out what to use against him, this match up is frustrating from the other side.

Due to this, experienced players can terrorize better with his links while newbs still learning combos have some way to start combos off. Of course they still need to learn hit confirming but with his target combos included with his links, I think he has some nice tools to offer to any player.

Either way dont mistake this for a complaint. Its only my reasons why I think he is kinda OP but I still fight Yuns and I am happy everytime I kick a Yun’s ass. When I loose, then I loose but when they loose? They lost to an Adon player.
Yun doesn’t wake up any faster than the other characters in this game, wtf are you talking about??? Just pick ryu, record him sweeping and immediately jump after recovery with j.hk, then block. Now set playback and try reversaling with yun’s ex dragon kicks (4 frame startup). Ryu will block in time. This means that yun’s wakeup is 100% normal.
Like any character you can’t just mash and win; of course you need to know how to play him. He still outclasses most characters with his rushdown that other classes can’t easily, or flat out can’t, counter (pro tip: he shouldn’t be able to do that)
Played some guys today, pretty much destroyed them with Ibuki, after many wins I got bored and picked Yun, I instantly got a message from the dude who opened the lobby: “You can use Yun somewhere else.” and got kicked out of the lobby after the match.
I don’t get it, where is the hate coming from? He’s good, yeah, but no one seems to say anything about Yang… like ever.
I’m not a scrub, I’m not mashing and I don’t abuse stuff like many other do, but I still reseve so much hate, it pisses me off.
For the love of god, fix Yun a little Ono, don’t destroy him.
Make ex lunge even on block (or even -2, I don’t care)
Reduce meter build and damage of his palm.
ex lunge > u1 shouldn’t be possible.

A friend of mine is maining Fei since vanilla, and he’s totally beasting with him, he’s one of the only characters who gives me trouble, yet he got no single: Fuck Fei- hatemail since AE dropped.
I’m still pretty sure that Yun is going to be ass when they release a new version of this game, because that’s how Capcom handles stuff like that.
