Daigo / Kuroda story, “who the hell are you, only I may speak, I’m the pro here”
*Possibly Kuroda messing around with a Daigo impersonation voice though.
“SAD STRIKE”
Yeah, think positive. Better than way too many voices trying to be heard if they do a Panel again.
To be fair to Capcom for once. I have heard confirmation that Capcom is paying for Q&A and the title update on both consoles, they’re just not paying IG for the work. Just thought that bit of info should be out there.
some sound samples always cut off prematurely in OE, like urien’s aegis shattering. anybody know of any other samples that do this? in the pile of sound effects not coming out or being wrong somehow, the ones that are consistently problematic and therefore most reproducible should be easiest to fix.
The new art is not superior to Daigo Ikeno’s old, this guy is tripping.
IDK why he’s yapping about GGPO in general when the fault is with the code in their game, GGPO works way better on PC than it works on 3SOE, hence the problem is on their side, not in GGPO in general.
Also he finally admited they used the PS2 code as a base for the game instead of the arcade version like they said they would. I’m sure there could be a legal case there if someone would be an asshole enough to sue.
You guys should make up your mind about where it plays better. One week it’s there, the next it’s here. I get it, we need something to talk about but all this flip flopping is giving me athlete’s foot.
A lot of the time, it’s actually felt just like the Dreamcast code. No wonder hardly any serious players bother with it, and the Ranked is just full of random jump-back Akuma players who seem to think 3s is some kind of SFIV loading screen game, like the old Tekkens had on PlayStation.
All the current issues with the character portraits (not facing the center of the screen, weird cropping, chamba’s artwork on Q, 1px off to the right of Ryu’s 2p side, etc) could be solved by some simple recoloring of Ikeno’s art. It would only be 7 colors per character, and doesnt seem that hard to implement- I can even volunteer to do the recoloring so if necessary.
Here’s an example of what I’m thinking:
(snipped from that cool MAD danisen video)
I would also like to see them polishing this version as best as they can. This is the main goal IMO.
It really bugs me when sound drops off in the middle of an offline match. Happens most often during Gen’eiJin combos (I play it on the PS3 btw).
Also, if they are indeed using the PS2 version as a basis, I hope they can bring up stuff that was present on that version of the game - like arcade music and smooth music transitions between the rounds for example.
As I said it before, a quicker rematch option for offline matches would be great (without having to confirm 4 screens on 2 different controllers)
About the arcade-console differences, you have a lot more expertise in this than I do. I hope Ryan and some more of you can help them discover what’s wrong and bring the game closer to the arcade version.
One other thing I can think of: In Ranked it will match you to the same person consistently. At least 5 times in a row. So some way to eliminate that would be awesome.
Ryan, could you mention the “not enough meter to do EX moves” blue isn’t dark enough compared to when it is flashing?
I wish I could make a gif or a video of the colors the arcade version flashes and the colors the console version flashes but the colors in the OE are too close imo.
They can color code the ping numbers like Skullgirls. Best of both worlds.
