If you want useless shit like NG/2i backgrounds, your oppinion doesn’t matter. But with that being said, I think they’re missing a money hole here with not releasing the real original arcade music as DLC, I for one sure would buy it
How does original arcade music affect gameplay?
You get that good feeling, you know? That great mood that gets your top a-game on when you hear that smooth Ken stage song in all of it’s originality, so you play better.
That happened when I took off the new song and started using the old character select music and main menu music. Maybe I have an untrained ear, though.
Well I think the monitors run at very very close to 60hz. i’m talking about refresh rate there.
the game is designed to work best with the monitors current around that time.
so the game should be designed to sync frames to refresh rate as best as possible to give you the clearest smoothest image possible.
ESN could probably give you the exact answer though.
as for OE it definitely feels smoother than any other sort of version you can play. on emu there are dropped frames no matter what. play fba, nebula, etc. for like 3 days, then play OE and you’ll notice instantly. where as from oe to cps3 there isn’t really much i can notice.
Maybe not exactly 60 fps, probably something like 59.9xxx.
But this is just asumption from previous frames data and emulators rate.
Jedpossum may know more…
my perception is that MAME runs smoother framerate-wise than other emulators, and is slower (maybe close to arcade? I dunno)
of course as many have mentioned it has the worst input lag of any emulator or console port so it’s probably not suitable for actual play.
yes the grades are not colored correctly sometimes. also, S is bronze on the results screen when it shouldnt be.
Here’s another glitch I don’t think has been mentioned yet:
Sometimes you’ll accept a ranked match and the timer will start counting down more quickly than usual, usually in sets of 2. so like 5-4, 3-2, 1-freeze. after it hits 1 it freezes and the only way to fix it is to leave through the Dashboard then come back. I have no idea what the other guy sees when this happens or if it’s the same on both sides of the connection. this happens a couple of times a day to me though.
LOST PACKETS
IIRC MAME 3s default is something like 59,9xxx, but I run with it 60hz, could that be the speed differance everybody is raging about? The exact freq cabinet 3s uses may be impossible to use on PC or console, so that could be it.
Got in touch with Dave. I will meet up with the Iron Galaxy guys at EVO. Hopefully we can touch bases and discuss what the dedicated players want to see and what can be done about it. Post up with some things you want me to bring up.
they should add a beep or some kind of noise when in a lobby and you’re an active player and the game is counting down to enter char selection.
run on.
so that you can do other stuff in a full room while waiting for your turn to come up.
Extra points if it uses the real Character Select Sound clips.
That badass horn /1-2-3-4444/ might be why Dirty♪ is called Dirty Music.

In that lobby, using (XBL) messaging during the wait can freeze the order for a long time and you can’t see where in the list you are, and when you’re going up next. So just any overhaul even if only the SFX is added for your turn would be a big improvement.
Arcade Results screen, it was included in PS2/XBOX with Arcade music, it would play during Online Rematching / Exit, Offline “Save Replay / Rematch”

Is also one I really liked, but I know its far fetched without adding all of the Arcade music.
i’m surprised that doesn’t get brought up more often. having the arranged music only was sad enough, but it’s missing an entire song. a song that’s supposed to be played before every match! it’s only a few seconds long and is looped indefinitely, so maybe it can be an exception to the small patch size rule.
yeah the sax is def one of the best parts of the 3s soundtrack.
that’s happened to me only once, before any of the patches came out. i’m thinking it’s related to the connection you’re playing against. i’ve since stopped playing against red/brown.
any idea what the meeting’s going to be like? will it just be on the evo floor, chitchatting, or something more formal like in a hotel room with a dev setup (doubtful but would be awesome)? if the latter, i might go to evo just for that </self invite>
You racist ass mother fucker.
Look at me, I’m Mike Ross!
it would be great if its some kind of formal invite but i bet it will just be chitchatting. at the very least, i hope we can go up to my hotel room and sit down with 3soe and point out a few things.
im not too sure how this meeting will go, but i am thinking positive. when i talked to derek neal last evo, i got the feeling he was blowing me off like i was just some random 3rd strike game faqs scrub.
