Plinking the third Sweep, that is.
The second one shouldn’t be plinked, you have to go off of timing alone.

noob problem i cant seem to hit the f+mk,s.hk
f+mk -> s.hk xx lp Jet Upper -> hp Jet Upper: 318 Damage
i tired fast i tried slow.any tips
s.mk~s.hk is no problem
I tend to just plink both the f+MK and the st.HK, it helps the timing a lot and makes it feel more like a 3 frame link. You’ll figure out the exact timing in like, 2-3 tries.
Dont know how useful its going to be, but you can combo EX SSB from an ST.RH if its on ch, so you can do ch HK xx EX SSB FADC full ultra in the corner (561 damage)
That wouldn’t even be a hit confirm though. It’d be best to just forget that.
Well it could work vs Abel.Ex SSB is -5 on block and abel’s pokes/specials are quite slow.I think his cr.jab and cr.lk are 5 frames so it may work against him. Also, ELF can’t cause much punishment over a -5 move on block.
Oh and i think that could work vs grappelers if you can predict when they’ll try reversal 360.If you do f.mk and they block your are +3, so if they reversal grab, st.hk will hit them.Don’t know if it counts as a counter hit vs grapple moves, though.
It’s still not a hit confirm because you’re canceling the RH before you can really tell if you hit. Even when it does hit you have to consider that you’re trading your Ultra meter and 3 bars of EX. I’m not sure many players would consider that worth it.
Abel’s Tornado Throw is 5 frames. He can punish -5 easily.
Honestly there’s no reason to try EX SSB unless you’re behind on life and you need that full ultra combo. Dudley gets his ultra for much cheaper than that, especially in the corner. f+mk, cr.lp xx cr.lp -> s.hk is a better frame trap for punishing reversals after f+mk and it’s hit-confirmable.
yeah, im real new to picking up dudley, jus been messin around with him… would this be a practical combo? OH-> s.hk > ex MGB > sweep
That’s only in the corner and its’ a 1-frame link between f+hk and s.hk but yes it’s practical. You can finish with 2 cr.hk instead of one as well.
Corner combo - 635 damage:
j.hp, c.hp, s.hk, EX MGB, lk Dash Straight, lp MGB, Super
This is just adding the lk Dash Straight to the combo for a bit more damage and is quite easy.
Another thing discovered from this combo…if you do EX MGB in the corner then do lp MGB, you cannot connect Ultra (at least I couldn’t). But if you do the lk Dash Straight then lp MGB, three hits of U2 connect. Not sure if it is worth it to do Ultra here though as just doing EX MGB then c.hk into U2 might do more damage.
Thanks to Jayce the Ace for the c.hp, s.hk link though! You can do this link after a focus crumple for massive damage.
I found it to be easier on some character than others.
can someone help with comboing duck straight after ex mgb? like sometimes for me, mgb comes out instead of duck straight… i know this is because I am inputting the punch too early and not letting duck come out, but do you guys have any tips on the timing of when to input duck after ex mgb hits? I do land it occasionaly, but I need it to be 100%. Sometimes it whiffs, sometimes mgb comes out. Any help guys?
Not sure if this has been discussed, but does plinking make psuedo-target combos? I’ve been doing f.mk and plinking into s.hk, and I think it registers the s.mk but doesn’t show the animation, which allows me to finish up target combo 7. Or is it something else altogether.
P.S. does anyone have a good method for doing f.mk, c.lp>s.mp, light jet upper, fierce jet upper? I have about a 60% success rate with it, any other time, dudley ducks and throws out his super.
Just make sure you are plinking correctly. I plink f.mk into s.hk all the time and I’ve only gotten s.mk once or twice. Most likely you are pressing too early and because the only thing that can come out at that time is the s.mk for the target combo that’s what comes out. It’s the same for the OS c.lk into ultra 1, if the c.lk connects you will get a s.mk from doing an ultra input because it’s the only thing that can come out then.
Is there any way to combo into rolling thunder apart from after a focus attack?
(Game doesn’t come out here till tomorrow so I can’t try anything out)
Nope.
That’s lame. Cody can combo into last dread dust. All be it very difficulty. And rolling thunder only does 40 more damage. No one is every going to pick that ultra haha.
It’s good for fireball characters. I usually land it every round, although I do focus quite a lot as well.
I honestly can’t grasp how Rolling Thunder is “better” for fireball characters. I’m never close enough to take advantage of its short range to go through fireballs
