Shit I enjoyed the Onepunch Man chapters on Mangastream.
tbh I stopped checking scans from MS for quite some time now because their translations were always botched up as of late. JB however will be missed.

I’m really wondering what the next chapter will be about. I doubt that Oda will show us what One Piece is but maybe we’ll get some glimpses of Raft…err Laugh Tale.

Liked Raftel better. Makes it sound like a place where there were lots of dead ships. Pirate crews perished to get to that last hidden island. The shattered remnants of their ships leading to what seems like thousands of smaller Raft like pieces.

R.I.P. Mangastream and Jaminisbox, both brought some of the best scanlated manga to our fingertips, with One Piece of course being a mainstay for me.
But yeah, Roger finally broke the trend! A lot of these OGs from the golden age of piracy seemed to not have any named attacks but Gol D Roger comes out with one, interesting… And Roger’s and Whitebeard’s display of Gyo Armament haki was ridiculous seeing how they didn’t even make contact! We finally see what these men in their prime were capable of, even if they truly weren’t going “All out”.
I don’t know how important this is but when Whitebeard and Shanks clashed they made direct contact so I don’t know if this was a sign of Newgate’s decline or something trivial.
I’m still surprised Scopper Gaban hasn’t received a proper introduction yet, I would’ve really wanted to see him go to town with those axes. He seems pretty badass, oh well, I guess we’ll have to wait until we see him in the present…
Oh and Laugh Tale, definitely not feeling it. Oda’s literal translations like of Mariejoa, Donquixote and Shabondy should probably be understood as English transliteration issues due to his limited understanding of English.
Even if its Oda’s literal intent for the name to be Laugh’s Tale (Probably relating to the late and likely “strawhatted” Joy Boy) it will always be Raftel in my head; just like how the creator of “Gifs” will never convince anyone to pronounce it “Jifs” as he intended. Thanks for your contribution to internet history but nah Geefs 4 lyfe.
