Summary
Amatsuki Toki is 800 years old! It means that she was probably living during the Void Century! She can also time travel into the future! Perhaps she saw something terrible happening during the Void Century and time traveled the hell out of there. At this point, Oda is putting a lot of importance into Oden’s story. It’s also safe to assume that that Oden with his insane strengh, charm and passion and with Toki’s knowledge, those two are KEY elements as to why Roger found One Piece and became Pirate King.

@Sacr3D Good ish putting this together, I’ve been busy with life stuff so it’s becoming harder to keep track of everything. It was actually hinted even before this chapter that Toki came from a much earlier place in time than her present timeline in Act 1. But yeah she was definitely around the time of Void Century and most likely presented a greater danger to the WG/ Im than Clovis and the all the Oharan scientists combined.
Oden and the Rogers Pirates most likely used Toki’s historical knowledge to piece together the events that lead up to, and proceeded the Void Century, which is why Rayleigh said just the knowledge of what One Piece and Void Century are doesn’t solve the problems of the world and that another prophecy has to essentially be “fulfilled”. Oden most likely jumped ship from Blancobeard to Roger because he never seemed interested in finding One Piece, just maintaining his “family”, while Roger’s personality seemed more in tune with Oden’s single-mindedness.
It also seems that Toki’s abilities only grant her the ability to move forwards in time and not backwards, at least in its presumably unawakened form.
The other suspicious issue is the relationship the Celestial Dragons/Cipher Pol 0 and Wano has with each other in the current timeline. Wano’s ancestors were the ones responsible for not only inventing seastone, but also the pesky invincible poneglyphs which the World Government have been trying to destroy/hide from the public for hundreds of years. I think the WG + Orochi alliance has something to do with the events 20 years ago and why Oden was killed, not just Kaido’s invasion.
There’s some other potential threads I have to put together when I have time…

What’s crazy about the arrival of Gol D. Roger is how his ambient Haki is so strong you got a whole menagerie of fearsome beasts running from their presence. That’s some next level shit right there!
Although the famous Whitebeard vs Roger clash will likely occur here, I also think that this might be the melee where Teach got the upper hand on Shanks, so I’m looking forward to seeing how that might’ve went down. I also think Oden might be the one who quells things down, hence why he eventually joined the Rogers Pirates on their final voyage.
BTW, does anyone else thing the old woman regaling Kozumi tale to a young Orochi is still using the Mane Mane no Mi and her real face has yet to be revealed? Maybe it’s because I read this late at night but I think that person’s true motivations has yet to be revealed.

Did Roger find One Piece during the final voyage or before? I forgot. I always thought his sickness was related to Raftel.

I actually stopped because I can only take so much subbed anime, rather blow it on stuff I don’t already know instead of a reinterpretation of something I already experience.
That being said there are moments where the embellishes work.
Yeah, I watched the new episode just to see Luffy vs Kaido, and 80% of the animation was awful.
But the other 20% sure did make Luffy look cool.

The animation was cool but the deviation from the manga lost the point of the fight. From what I remember, Kaidou was drunk that’s why Luffy was able to hit him then after that Kaidou one-shot him. No pointless filler barrage of attacks from one another. The manga just showed the gap between the two.

Bad news, Mangastream has been down for a few days and Jaimini’s box decided to stop working on Shonen Jump projects. So we will not be getting One Piece tonight and we’ll have to wait for the official scans on sundays.
