One Piece Thread: Gear 3rd!

Still wondering where the leak is coming from. Maybe it is a smile or do user with chameleon abilities or a really small animal, the idea of a legit traitor or telepathic link seems less and less likely.

couldnt the scarecrow guy forsee the future?

His fortune telling seemed limited to those around him. Also the cards would not allow details like look for the Cresent Moon on their ankles.

Girlfriend been all up on One Piece since January. She woke me up crying I thought something happened. She told me she got to the part where Ace dies at Marineford. I didnā€™t think It would hit her so hardā€¦

Oda lulled everyone into a false sense of safety before Shabondy. Even after that and the non victory escaping Impel Down folk kept thinking everything would fine and no one important would die, especially after being revealed to be more important than we thought.

Oda played us all, but damn did it make for a great story.

So are things REALLY going to start happening now, or this just more shuffling characters into place?

This seems like a set-up chapter which is fine since thereā€™s no break, but Iā€™m intrigued why Oda held back us knowing Tono D? Yasuā€™s identity for so long. Other than his antics he didnā€™t really give off a strong impression but I guess a flashback is in order.

  • Sanji is going to be pissed when he overhears that Hyori and Zoro were sleeping together.

  • Komurasaki might have been brainwashed in some way in order for her to keep a low profile, because her naive, childlike personality feels like such an abrupt contrast to her Komurasaki persona.

  • Notice on the color page that Zoro is the only one without a destination listed? Oda knows his characters well.

Have you ever met or even heard of someone who got lost on a straight road?

Thereā€™s a break next week meh.

Oda saving up that strength. Thereā€™s more power in play here than weā€™ve seen since Marineford. Even the third stringers are fuck-some-shit-up tier.

Actually, if everybody who was at Marineford teamed up against everybody in Wano right now, Iā€™m not even entirely sure team Marineford wins.

Well thereā€™s a reason the world government dont try to fuck with them.

Iā€™m not seeing that so far. There was definitely more at stake in marine ford, more threat and more big players/powerhouses. I fail to see that for Wano.

I dont even know wtf happened in this chapter

Same thing tbh and I canā€™t even remember anyoneā€™s name. Tbh this is far from my favorite arc so far.

Zoro can live a carefree life with Hyori as his wife and I would be okay with that.

Yeah but next week is Goldenweek, so it makes sense that there isnā€™t a chapter. I donā€™t really count that as a real Oda ā€œbreakā€.

This second act of the Wano play is clearly one big setup for the action-filled third act. Oda is merely setting up the pieces but thereā€™s so many moving parts I canā€™t possibly predict the outcome. An amnesiac O-Lin and CP-0 already changed my expectations since the first act.

Iā€™m still laughing at that image of Brookā€™s nonexistent eyes poking out of his skull. Thatā€™s some Looney Tunes absurdity right there.

This is the nicest chapter without fan service or action in a while. My opinion of Yasu has dramatically increased.

Why did Doflamingo have an interest in Momonosuke and Kinemon? Those two ended up on Punk Hazard after leaving Kanjuro on Dressrosa - how/why were they there? Time travel sent them to a random place? Why were they being chased on Dressrosa?

Why did Jack come looking for Raizo on Zou? Donā€™t the current Wano baddies think that those guys all died 20 years ago? How many of the minks knew that Raizo was a time traveller and that Wano would be interested in him? Werenā€™t the minks suspecting that perhaps someone sold them out?

Those two arcs made it appear that Kaido/Wano were well aware of the ghosts of Wano, but the currect arc makes it look otherwise.
