Old Man Logan

Everyone is referencing Romulus though.

because it lead to the disarming of Remus (aka creed) who later looses his head for ratings

It doesn’t bother me that Romulus is still around, as long as they don’t make him look exactly like Sabretooth. XD

Besides Lobe took Way’s “Romulus” idea and completely ruined it. There is still a chance Way can turn it around and do something better with it.

well, now im one happy dude
seriously, 9.8
very happy

i was just on google lookin up wolverine art. that pic came up^ its an awesome one

Yes, yes, yes.

I haven’t been keeping up with this series at all. In fact I just kinda stumbled upon it the other day when I made my daily trip to Boarder book store on my lunch break (been reading Watchment and napping - hey, they got some reaaaal comfy chairs).

Anyways, I didn’t notice the issue number but it’s the newest issue on the shelves - but good lord was it violent! Don’t wanna spoil the outcome for anyone but I will say this: Wolverine takes on just about every major Marvel villian in a one-man stand off and it was bru_tal. Limbs and heads are flying left and right, throats are being cut open, and bodies shredded to pieces. Probably one of the most graphically violent Wolverine stories I’ve ever read.

The outcome of the fight is surprising and so was his decision to “attempt” to kill himself. Yeah, the dude’s pretty much unkillable but his method of choice was highly questionable.

Anyways, I recommend it anyone who likes old-school brutal and savage Wolverine to check it out.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn’t see another thread based on this series already. Thanks, Sano.

I never really thought that issue was the best in any particular department (best, wolverine story, nor best depiction of a brutal wolverine, best artwork, etc.)

What I did think it was, was the best in combining those aspects to a high level. In other words, it wasnt the most brutal and the artwork wasnt the beset i ever saw. But the combination of so many things, (great artwork + pretty brutal choreography + good shock factor = best combination of all that I’ve seen in a while.)

Its definitely an issue to remember.

Some issues have incredible artwork, but barely any action or story. This had awesome brutal (chunky / meaty) choreography (the things youd hope he’d do in a movie not like the Fox movies,) the story was decent, the artwork was great and theres even a panel that holds my favorite picture of wolverine, the shock factor was still good, and the pacing was good too (short, sweet, and memorable.)

I doubt they can top that with the next Old Man Logan issues, but they said two issues after the OML series, they will do something really shocking or monumental in the standard Wolverine issue series. The guy said it would be something like or on par with Wolverine’s adamantium extraction.

I’d love to try to get hyped about that, but the way the comics sell every secret and hint to comic websites months before, I doubt I will be that surprised. Many people guessed the twist behind OML #70 months and months before it was released.

I think too many people thought this series was going to change their lives or something. Way too many fans hold this stuff on a high pedestal, instead of just simply enjoying it for what it’s worth.

Bumping because the next issue comes out this week. Freaking finally!

I am so hype for this

goddamn

so good

What Buz said really. This is gonna be fantastic when its finally collected in trade. Every single page has something cool going on in it, from Venom T-Rexes, to Pym Falls, to the reveal of what was really in Hawkeye’s case, and the ending left me scratching like a crackfiend to find out what happens next. Ever since issue 69, this arc has been on fire.

Yeah major ownage in the last issue!

Old Man Logan

Spoiler

BLACKBOLT RULES! Sorry, just had to say it.

damn you SANO shakes fist

ALL HAIL THE KING!
I’ma link that every time he does something badass XD.

…but yeah this issue was really entertaining. This and Dark Avengers #3 totally made up for the stuff that happened in X-Force #13, can’t believe Kyle and Yost would do such a thing!

So guys, do you think that Logan’s gonna pop his claws and kill people? …and I really hope this gets a happy ending.

Theres not many issues before the end. I hope the writer picks it up or continues the story like he said he wanted to. I hope that it gets an awesome ending to live up to the hype of this thing.

The final issue gonna be a giant-size issue I believe.

Should be out some time next year then.

But seriously, I’m not the biggest fan of Wolverine in a solo series but I’ve been reading Old Man Logan and it is really cool. I think it would actually be cooler if Logan finished the story without ever having popped his claws.

Wolverine and Old Man Logan

I agree. I really think Logan proves all the haters wrong in this issue. A lot of fans complain that Logan kills too much and his character has been ruined since his days in the Claremont books. But now we have a series that proves them wrong and people are still nit picking it. It goes to show that us fans will never be happy.

I think my buddy Ace on Wolverine Files Forum said it the best:

Feel free to disagree with me and him though.
