[details=Spoiler]So the the cover of 71 is actually like an extended last page? Pretty cool. He looks so pissed like someone took a dump on his face.
I dont think many of us care about what happened to Hawkeye… but Ill admit it took me by surprise. Maybe he’ll pop his claws next time.
Oh yeah, is anyone else worried not all the threads will be tied by the end? They often do that with series these days, always forgetting to give closure to subplots. Millar said they might continue this after its done. Which I kind of dont like. Its special when its 8 issues. But when they keep extending a series it loses somewhat of the impact subconsciously. I guess I dont like long series where you never get to know the final end until years and years later.[/details]
Doesn’t bug me. There’s a lot of things in future stories that are best left unexplained. It’s one thing to know a possible ending of a universe, it’s another thing to know all of the details. It’s better to be vague about certain things. The less things you pin down the slower the rate that the current timeline will render it null and void (which will happen anyway but it’s better if it happens later rather than sooner).
true, but i guess its an alternate timeline thing and supposed to be 8 issues only thats why i want a lot of closure. if we’re talking wolverine origins or other big series like astonishing i think a little bit of mystery helps.
As usual it will just turn into a world that will be revisited from time to time. The interest is there and Millar said something along the lines of he wouldn’t mind working in that world again. Seriously Marvel didn’t even shut down Age of Apocalypse Land, and you talk about closure well… AOA Land was destroyed but got better… :looney: Marvel doesn’t flush away universes. The Marvel Multiverse already contains something close to about 400 universes that we know of and the number is always increasing. Old Man Loganverse will be back.
This should have been a limited series. I don’t see the point of pre-empting a major comic for an entire year just for some elseworlds-type storyline unless there’s some link to current continuity which thus far I’ve seen none.
However if it keeps Mark Millar from ruining the actual Marvel Universe then he can stay on this title for as long as he wants.
Exactly. I guess I wouldnt be the most hardcore of comic fans. I like to be able to know i will see the beginning and ending… without waiting 20 issues more. Its why I dropped out of Berserk. Im telling you Im not the biggest comic book fan and the only reason I got into Old Man Logan originally was because I knew Id get to see the ending of it.
Has it been revealed how, exactly? I’ve read every issue of all three of the books that he’s written and I don’t see anything that really connects them in a meaningful way. I guess his FF run still has a while left though.
I thiiiink there was one character in Old Man Logan that was mentioned that was either discussed in Fantastic Four or 1985. I’ll have to look it up when I remember. Though yeah Millar said all three are connected since day one. Old Man Logan is his ‘Marvel Future’ really.
EDIT: Yeah I thiiiink Clyde Wincham was name dropped in OML already. Not too sure though. More info on the link below. Big time spoilers so be warned.
Crazy schedule for the next few issues of Wolverine. They are going to shove a Way / Aaron story in there before it’s done. :bluu:
***According to Diamond, Marvel has changed the order in which the next two issues of Wolverine will be released. According to the news, issue #73 of Wolverine will be released before #72, on May 13th, while issue #72, the penultimate chapter of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven?s ?Old Man Logan? will be released on May 20th.
Wolverine #73 is written by Jason Aaron and Daniel Way, with art by Adam Kubert and Tommy Lee Edwards, and features two, two-part stories focusing on the modern day version of the character, something Diamond notes, may be helpful in picking up new readers who saw the X-Men Origins: Wolverine and are looking for more of the character.
As announced at New York Comic Con, ?Old Man Logan? will conclude in the extra-sized, Giant Size Old Man Logan. Wolverine #74 is due in stores on May 27th, and will feature the conclusion of the Aaron and Way stories.
Currently, the title is due to change names to Dark Wolverine with issue #75, and Wolverine?s son, Daken is slated to take the lead role. That issue is due in stores on June 17th. ***
