depends on the situation really… comboing into tatsu is a good habit, especially versus characters who have a strong wake-up game… You wanna combo into srk vs characters with weak wake-up games…
and ur c.lp, c.lp, s,lp, c.mk tatsu is a bad idea… get rid of one of the jabs… not only will this mean less scaling and more damage, but itll also keep the opponent close so you dont have to use an EX-tatsu if you don`t have the bars for it…
and regarding the online issue… its not necessarily the lag... its more of a mindset thing… youre free to focus on nothing but the combo in training mode... in a match many factors come into play and youre execution suffers because of it sometimes… but it`ll become a habit soon enough… muscle-memory trumps everything in the end it seems
Guys , have a question about this combo linking . I’m quite comfortable with cr.lk , cr. lp , cr. mk xx tatsu or srk , but I’ve always seen the cr.lp in the combo replaced with st. lp .
So , what’s the benefit of doing so ? Dmg shud be similar , maybe further range covered ? or easier to link with higher frame advantage.
Thanks for the reply MajenX, about the 8 hits combo into HK Tatsu, it works on bigger characters so if i’m playing against a Gief for exemple I would def do that, but I agree a shorter combo would be technically better.
I have to admit I spend more time on practice mode these days I already know the basics maybe I should do more match.
Someone from the Ken Improvement thread were comparing Ryu to Ken and why Ryu would still be better than Ken. He said something about that Ryu can EX fireball, FADC, Ultra, while Ken cannot. Well, I found a Youtube video of Ken performing EX fireball, FADC, Ultra. [media=youtube]JXZr-iTKdTg"[/media]. It looks legit, but I can’t replicate this yet, I think the frame link is really small. Has anyone else been able to do this?

This is my first post here, and I hope I’m not being stupid now but is there a thread that lists Ken’s option selects and how to do them? Similar to this one I guess.
I have tried searching for “Ken Option Selects” but either I’m overlooking something or there isn’t a thread for this. If that’s the case I guess I’ll just start shuffling through all these threads for some answers.
I’m trying to incorporate OS into my game. Its giving me a headache. Heres a general before and after flowchart regarding my jumpin combos from 6 months ago up until now.
lol, I dont mind, but its not a real science…I spent like 2 minutes on it. I dont know if anybody else does s.lk OS tatsus, but my fingers dont like the s.lp+mk+hk OS and s.lk works on all characters. Definitely cant do a c.hp from that s.lk either. And of course you can do other things after getting blocked…and you can toss another lp into the combo/blockstring most of the time. I guess its ok for a starting point though.
