if they are backdashing mid block string then stop ur string and punish,fireball kara thorw sweep,ovehead, see if they like to backdash and press a butn or backdash n blok low, capcom dropd the ball on makinig the startup of the bd invincible, but ken has a step kik use that shit,as for backdashing on wakeup ken is a os beast, learn the safejump os then the crossup os then the c,lk os with normals then specails if u memorize these and test them on evry character they will not b able to back dash on wakeup ever

os sweep shuld wurk on honda os f,srk will wurk too,ur dping on wakeup was a good guess but if u os it it wouldnt b a guess also os ex tatsu wurks great on honda, if he bd then he eats 4 kiks if he bloks rong preses a butn or trys to jump away he eats a combo if he reversals then ur fukd

sorry 4 the 3rd post but it looks like u reached the level with ken wear using option selects are a must, os evry jumpin evry c.lk and every meety, this is wear it gets real triky cuz if u fuk up ur os u get punishd if the reversal u get punishd so us ken players have to press 20 extra dam butns jus so the muthafukas will sit still and take the damm mixup,sorry for rambling i hate backdahsers with a passion and have a os for every character n the game jus n case they wanna test me, jus make it a habit to os evrything and eventually it will become 2nd nature

Yea I dont use the Kara-fb to much either, don’t see the use of it online at least, but its nice.

Did I miss anything btw? Havn’t been in the game for a month+ now lol. 3 new chars added, nice though. I hope Im still as hyped to get SSF4 >.> don’t wanna quit

Anyone have pro tips for what to do after being knocked down by Zangief?

If I block or dash back, I’ll get grab by SPD. If I try jump, I’ll get hit by normal move or Lariat.

Can someone please show me the input required for a kara srk? Is the kara srk useful and worth learning?

Just found this out in training mode, don’t know if it’s been posted elsewhere but, any move in which the opponent is falling during recovery gives you counter hit properties when you fp.srk them. So you can do blocked blanka ultra > fp.srk > full ultra. Blocked cammy ultra > fp.srk > ultra. Really ANY move that is falling during recovery.

Side note: kara-fb’s are gdlk after meaty slow fb’s

why not just straight ch.ultra blanka back instead of using 2 bars to fadc and have the ultras damage scalling kick in from all the hits ?
or are you saying you dont have to fadc after the f.dp ?

Well countering blanka’s ultra sucks, I’ve lost so many matches trying to counter his ultra. Even in training mode it’s not a sure fire thing. fp.srk fadc full ultra does more damage than a full ultra too, so scaling isn’t really an argument. It’s much much safer blocking and then doing the full ultra. Perhaps a better example is Bison’s headstomp, if you block it it’s pretty much a free ultra. I’m just saying it doesn’t have to specifically be blanka’s ultra. It can be rose’s air throw, anyone’s dp, anything with airtime recovery. You can also super > ultra midscreen this way too.

Plus I’d much rather whiff a srk than an ultra in case you screw up on timing.

If you hit any airborne character with the first hit of fierce dp you get the counter hit properties if you FADC. It doesn’t matter if they are in recovery or active hit frames, as long as they are airborne. It even works if you hit the opponent during their backdash because nearly every characters back dash makes them airborne for a small amount of time.

hey Crazed man, i just caught your match on mtlsf. That infiltration tourny. Tough break man those announcers had no love at all. it was actually pissing me off i mean thats gonna drive players away seriously. and those guys are bragging about how fast MTL sf scene is growing, pfft it wont for long like that.

anyways. in the blanka match you had the right idea not jumping very much. I take it that mao guy was a heavy favourite to win? you seemed intimidated. specific things i noticed was you didnt punish slide with tatsu. if your in range to get a cr.mk you can get the ex tatsu. FB’s suck. other than that you just had to AA him more and dont be afraid to throw that dp when he’s up close and you got meter.

Don’t worry about the announcers, we always talk shit for fun :lol: near the end you hear one of the announcers say it’s a good thing the mics didn’t pick me up because I was being really vulgar. There’s a lot of free talk around here lol cranky kept calling me free in the stream but he’s free to me so it evens out :rofl:

Also yeah Mao is the best Blanka and he’s a really old school player so I was pretty nervous plus we were playing on the stream station that had a 3rd TV hooked up so people there could watch.

Hey guys I have a question about comboing with Ken, would you say j.EX Tatsu c.mk Tatsu is a good cross up combo? Or is it a waste of EX? Personnaly I find that the EX Tatsu has decent range and it works sometimes. Also I practice everyday the following combos, c.lk, s.p, c.mk, Tatsu, c.lp, c.lp, s.p, c.mk Tatsu or any links into Tatsu for that matter because I basically never combo into Shoryu. I’m pretty consistent on practice mode but online I often miss i’m wondering if it’s the lag?

And sorry i’m not too familiar with the SF4 notations.
