Official Street Fighter IV FightSticks & FightPad Thread (More on the way!)

Id appreciate it if someone had an answer for me.

Well, since this will be really my first time with a an arcade stick I’m sure I’ll adapt to the “japanese” way which is fine by me!! lol

I heard they do charge a 5% restocking fee.

I was originally going to mod my TE stick (just change the buttons for the see through seimitsu, and change the ball top and artwork) but I think I may get the SE stick for modding instead. At least until the warranty is up on the TE stick.

Never modded a stick before (my electrical skills = suckage), but the Madcatz sticks seem to be the easiest way to start.

Hot swappable + everything labeled - you just unplug the buttons, plug the new ones in. The shaft’s a bit harder, but not by much.

I just talked to Gamestop.com customer service, and I was informed that if you have the green ‘Verifying’ status, then that means that your order is A-ok, and is basically just waiting for the ship date so that they can charge the payment and send it to you.

Hopefully this clears up some confusion that some others may have been having, I know I was.

It seems kind of silly that there is such a good warranty on a stick that has been designed from the ground up to be extremely easily moddable, yet modding voids said warranty.

At the very least, non-soldering and/or elsewise non-structure altering mods ought not void said warranty.

I’m gutting at least one of mine as soon as I get it home.

6 Seimitsu PS-14-K-N buttons

2 Plugs

2 Seimitsu 24s

And an occy gate.

Would someone be able to open and mod the stick and if it broke down, replace the stick with the old parts and say that the stick was never opened so that Madcatz, not knowing any better, would replace it?

One would like to think so, yeah.

That said, I guess it’d pretty hard to enforce such criteria for the warranty.

Goodness only knows how hard-ass Madcatz will be will the warranty, though. I’ve never actually bought one of their pads/sticks, so I’ve no idea how their customer service is.

But from the quality way the sticks appear to be made, there really shouldn’t be too many breakages, save perhaps a worn microswitch or two.

Those are the only things I’ve ever had to replace on my HRAPs (damn you Millia, and your throw>dash>ADCs, lol).

And a PCB for a JLF is like $12 or so.

So the normal sticks are getting released on the 11th? and the TE sticks on the 17th with the game? (this needs a new thread with a better title and updated info on the first post)

Here’s an even DEEPER in-depth look at the inside of the TE Fightstick. I wish they’d open up the standard one for a change lol.

Well, I think the insides of the TE are the same as the standard.

You serious dude,? The TE is different from the SE from the components.
They are all Sanwa Denshi parts as opposed to the knockoffs (still pretty good though) components in the SE.

i think he means the same except the buttons & the stick.
like pcb wise, and quick disconnects and such things.

Oh, if it’s like that maybe.

Exactly.

theres pics of an opened standard fightstick on page 193 194 or 195 i cant remember which…

Too bad yall aint SDT
