For those who are still interested in preordering Tournament Edition stick in France, the well known Surcouf store intend to release it. If you want one, mail palves@surcouf.fr to know when the stick will be available online/in stores to get your reservation sooner as possible.
I don’t know if they ship international, for futher informations, www.surcouf.com
this is why the first post needs to be updated with all the latest pics/information (or just a whole new thread started… 200+ pages is too much for anyone to expect anyone else to sort though for information)
Good luck! I hope you adapt to it too or else you’ll have to mod it and I cant see that as being too much fun if you dont know what you’re doing.
I used to play on the American octogon gate before and didnt like or understand the idea of the square gate. After a bunch of my local arcades closed down the only place that was still around was an all import arcade where all the cabinets were Japanese. After playing for a bit there, I actually ended up liking the square gate more. My friend still prefers the octogon so its all preference.
I have to admit, it took some time to get used to it but once I got used to it, I liked the fact that I knew where the corners were. It gave me a better idea at all times which direction I was pointing at.
So is there anywhere in the US that you can still preorder the TE sticks? I’m assuming they’re all taken at this point, but I figured I’d see if anyone knew for sure. And I realize it might say somewhere in this thread, but that’s a lot of pages.
Both Amazon and Bestbuy have put more sticks up for pre-order in the past week. Of course those stocks sold out quickly, but it meant that the initial period where there were no pre-orders available for a few days didn’t necessarily indicate that all of the TE sticks were spoken for.
I’d keep an eye out for any place from Amazon to Gamestop or Bestbuy that might carry TE sticks and see if they have any available for pre-order or at launch.
I ordered from video game central, I’m determined to get a stick. What’s the worst that could happen? The check out process is through yahoo. I’m sure if anything funny happens I can get my money back. Why do you guys worry so much? So what if they charge you early. If you don’t have money in your bank account to pay for something, you shouldn’t be buying expensive arcade sticks. Some of you are buying way more than you need. 3-4, I don’t understand it. If your friends wanna play, let them buy their own sticks, why should you pay your money so they can leech the fun off of your dollar? “VGC oh noooo,” It’s like one person here thinks there’s something wrong ordering from there, and you all get in a tizzy. Just relax.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I sure hope I get my stick on the 19th, like they (vgc) said I would when I called them.
the release date depends on the distributor not every website/store will have them on the same date thus there is no way of knowing the release date of either stick for sure. but so far GS is saying the 11th.
I traditionally play on gamepads because there’s only 2 arcades up here (one only has older games and that crap chinese PCB SF2), so I play at home a lot. This will be the first stick I’ve bought since the Sega Genesis, I’m really looking forward to this. I figure I’ve been playing fighters hardcore for so long now, it’s time to pro up and buy a good stick, so TE it is.
Anyone know anything about changing the art on the TE sticks, btw? My friend does art for Marvel and was saying he’d totally be down to do some custom art for my stick, and if we can find another after release we were thinking about buying one just to do custom art on and sell.
Gamestop recently changed their software around, and one of the side effects is that it lists the status as “Backordered” when they’re actually in the “Processing Order” stage. They’ve put notes to that effect on some individual titles, but I’m not sure why they don’t put it on all of the orders (or just fix it). Anyway, point is, don’t worry if you ordered from Gamestop and it says that.
