Official Street Fighter IV FightSticks & FightPad Thread (More on the way!)

Well according to MarkMan, the HRAP3 is technically better than the SE FightStick.

I’m assuming the joystick and buttons are better in terms of performance but in terms of features, the HRAP3 doesnt have the lock tool or the nicely laid out turbo leds. Also the FightStick has the quick disconnects making it mod friendly. I guess it all depends on what you’re looking for.

HRAP3 has QD doesn’t it?

Quick kind of random question, just something I was thinking.

How much per stick is it costing Madcatz to produce each Tournament Edition stick? Does Madkatz make a profit selling these premium sticks?

Still super excited for Feb. 18… I got mine pre-ordered so I’m really looking forward to the TE stick and SF4.

Here’s a more in depth look at the fightsticks with more info regarding the standard one than usual

Yet another interview with Seth telling us to eBay these things. Gotta love it!

Also, that Standard Edition stick is looking really really great. Seeing it in video actually does it much more justice than the stills have.

I just hope the Standard Edition’s stick around in stores for a little while. I have 2 TE’s pre-ordered (1 PS3, 1 360) but I’d love to get a matching set of the SE’s for Player 2 when my boys come to drink some beers and trade some punches.

2 TE’s and 2 CE copies of the game are going to destroy my paycheck however, so those will have to wait.

Hmm, I think you’re right. Dunno why I thought otherwise. But the fightstick does have a better mounting plate for the stick so thats a plus as well.

Guess I’m forgetful today but the select/start buttons are also out of the way for the fightstick.

The parts in the HRAP3 must be decently better for MarkMan to rate it over the FightStick seeing how the SEFS is loaded with features. Makes me really curious how the parts are in the SEFS now. I hope we see more reviews for it.

keep in mind that HRAP3 is only $89.97 shipped through Amazon and it comes standard with Sanwa stick.

wider case as well. (plus to some players, including myself)

having said that, I like the layout of the SE stick. (i.e. where the start/select is, ect)

i would also prefer the hrap3 compared to the se sizewise and costwise …
but the buttonlayout is really better on the se imho

I’m talking SE vs. HRAP3…

saw it too but edited it to slow :wonder: … but youre right

but is it true that the se dont have a shaftcover but the te has ? just wondered because i saw it in the youtube video above ? maybe im wrong … crap quality of the video

At EVOWEST2007 I remember at least three or four people hitting pause during matches. Those people were using RAP2 sticks. The fact that the SE stick has start buttons on the back is a major, major plus.

I ordered the TE/SE sticks for the button layout primarily.

Hah… Well, I might just get the SFIV SE stick and mod it though this will be my first time modding… so umm can I get the Sanwa parts that would be good for the SE stick.
I’ll probably mod the SE stick after playing the hell out of it.

DO IT!

also be aware you’ll void your stick

On the subject of the fightpads… I reserve judgment on the feel of the buttons, and most importantly the d-pad, but the shape looks to me like it’s better than the Saturn pad for one simple reason: the controls are placed higher up on the pad with room for your hands to grab it. I found the Saturn pad, as good as it is, hard to snugly hold in your hands.

I think the TE is supposed to ship the 10th too…

this is why i get so confused, people keep saying different things.

I’ll keep to the “japanese style” stick (don’t like the bat top much) but what is the 8 way restrictor for and how can it be installed?

Aaah, I see so you keep it 8 way, but how about for the buttons (and I guess the sticks) for the SE, is it just snap on or what?

8-way restrictor, makes the stick move in an octagonal/circular movement, makes qcf easier to hit for some and emulates the feel of an american joystick more. To install it, you just snap off the square gate and snap on the new one, easy. Buttons will snap on and off easily too.
