Official Street Fighter IV FightSticks & FightPad Thread (More on the way!)

For those who pre-ordered from Amazon back in December, what are your estimated ship dates?

Thanks man!

wanna help me out a little more please mate i jus joined this forum today so i could ask this question cheers

sorry people but can anyone help me with this gamestop backordered crap will i be gettin my TE stick at sum point or not

Does anyone know if I can “give” my gamestop pre-order to someone? Now that they are released in Canada, I have one lined up here.

I would not mind helping someone out who is in backorder status

You might as well keep the pre-order. Doubt you can give the pre-order since it’s your info. It may end up cancelling your pre-order. After you get it, I’m sure someone in Canada on this forum will buy it from you.

Chozen, which distributor are you guys going with, INNEX?

i called the local ebgames here in canada this morning and they told me the 360 fightstick would cost $79.99 for 360, not the jacked up prices.

EB Games Canada are taking pre-orders, but they do not know the amount of shipment they’re getting. What this means is that there is NO GUARANTEE on the preorder from EBG Canada.

Yep…thnx a lot M$ I wonder why they didn’t charge an extra $10 for the TE stick? o.O

Markman, one of the places I preordered from is an Innex customer…what is the significance of that?

The funny thing is that if Chozen has an acct w/them, they have a similar answer: “So far, our distributor says it’s ok, if things change we’ll notify you”.

???

Thanks MarkMan

True, but there is that blasted brokerage + border charge

Wasn’t there a guarantee put out by Mad Catz to cover all pre-orders?

Ordered Dec. 1st with free shipping and estimated delivery is Feb. 25th.
I changed shipping to 2 days sometime last week, but the estimate hasn’t changed.

It’s $100 now, wait til the price updates in their system

Where was this ? Wasn’t the guarantee only for U.S. orders ?

Also, isn’t there only border charge ? A few years back EB GAMES.com paid for all of that when shipping to Canada. Don’t know about it now though.

Damn, I need money! Gotta pre-order the TE in Canada, baby.

Obviously, you have not read through the whole thread. Call it ‘cheerleading’ if you want to. I would not be on here ensuring people that their pre-order would be available upon delivery date if I did not know what the hell I was talking out nor having spoken to our buyer, my DM, and my source at MadCatz.

  1. There were a set number of these made
  2. MadCatz distributing works with the retailer chain buyers (these are the guys who decide how many bags of flour they need, carton of eggs, and milk they may need to meet the demand for people wanting breakfast in the morning)
  3. With the committed allocation available for the people who want to eat (people interested in the TE FS and other product) Marketing sets forth a restriction as to when to cut off taking reservation upon reaching about 90% of higher of their committed allocation. <because that is all they are guaranteed to get.
  4. When it comes to selling through new release skus, reserve customers are guaranteed that there will be a copy available to them for at least 48 hours.
  5. When it comes to collectible skus, corporate sends us an email stating that when 48 hours has rolled by, to begin calling those customers to remind them that they can still pick up their product, and usually hold on to them longer. They paid the higher deposit, and these are labeled as collectible/limited, so the chances of them getting one afterward are nil. [we know this, so we hold on to them as long as we can, unless we get confirmation from the customer that they changed their mind and allow us to sell to another customer who happens to ask or transfer it the product to another store to meet and take care of a customer service issue] < that would be your GameStop selling something they weren’t suppose to, to someone else and us rectifying the situation
  6. Not everyone has had a negative experience shopping/reserving with GameStop as you may or may not have had. It sounds like you have though.

Now I can only speak for my district, but we take care of our people.

  1. All that other shit, reservation online through OTHER RETAILERS I do not have the slightest.

Mark, if I missed out anything feel free to correct me.

Read the thread, it’s not that hard to do. :coffee:

Uh, isn’t that 79.99 the original price here as well?

Again, big props to Markman and all those involved in making these sticks. Thanks also to Shin-Rotendo for his updates from the GS front.

After seeing the insides of the regular Fightstick, I can now recommend it to some of my friends who are more “entry-level” to fighting games and don’t want to commit $150 to a TE, nor do they want to have to deal with hard-modding (like Toodles was saying about the Hori FS series). When they are ready to step up their rig, it will be so easy, they’re no longer afraid of the kind of time-sinks that most commercial stick mods are.

One thing I would like to see in the future for entry-level (like the regular Fightstick) sticks is an increase in size to something closer to the TE stick. Weight is easy to fix by the user, but size is one of those things that really helps a stick out IMO. Almost every review/video/passing comment on the TE stick has stated that its size and weight alone help set it above competitors.

Just a small suggestion for (hopeful) future Madcatz sticks.

February needs to hurry up! :wgrin:

ps3 fightstick is only 69.99, pre-ordered mine since the TE is completely pre-ordered out.
