Official Starcraft Thread

Jaeee dooooonnggggg!!!

J d…

Did anyone watch Leta vs Luxury? Those were some pretty sick matches too…

<-- Savior fan boy.

holy shit. people talk about sc on shoryuken :open_mouth:

Mostly just about you, actually. More SRK shoutouts, Sir.

Yeah, we just need to get more people to play. We should have a mini tourney again…if someone would just organize it (not me :P). We had a couple of really good players, but them seemed to have disappeared.

Tasteless, you are a very good commentator…keep up the good work!

The last time I tried to run a tournament, y’all fucked it up. ;.;

Too good. I didn’t think we made enough noise for anyone important to the scene to notice.

Tantin…no need for the blame game. We’re just a buncha lazy bums.

I was kidding, Kod. Sarcasm and the internet aren’t friends.

Does anyone have a place where I can get definitive build orders, and replays from tournaments? I’m perusing through teamliquid.net, but there’s no list of build orders (they seem vague/outdated), and the replays seem to be from random people as opposed to Korean pros.

The thing is, I’m a complete n00b at Starcraft. Aside from not being able to macro properly, having a terribly low APM (around 55 or so), and being unable to use hotkeys properly, I have no idea how I’m supposed to get better at this game. Am I just supposed to constantly play on ICCUP until I magically improve?

What’s your main race? There are a lot of good tutorials out there, depending on who you use.

If you want to watch pro matches with good commentary, watch the videos commentated on by Tasteless at gomtv.net, and also watch the commentaries by the “Violetak” youtube account.

I have a problem with the APM admiration. Yes, doing more things fast will lead tto more control, and getting more things done and being a better player but,

at what point does apm really not make a diff anymore? Alot of the Korean pros have APM of 300ish, but when I watch the replays, half of the clicks are just clicking on a mineral or buildings while nothings happening. Like, a guy is being built, but he clicks on the building in the meantime and raising his apm, and this makes him better when he just has to wait for the unit to be made anyway?

Its like friends I used to play with would click 30 times to path something the distance of 1 screen. uh, not necessary.

At the very beginning, they’re clicking on every thing so they keep fresh. So when big battles happen, they’re still going at that high APM. A lot of the great pros don’t even watch battles half the time, they go back into their base and macro back up.

it’s kinda scary how LITTLE flash watches battles

If we’re going to do a tournament again. Make the times more strict. Like schedule a set of matches at a certain day/time instead of letting people play whenever they want. That way people can watch the match live if they want to and people won’t have to track each other down to play them. Meeting up with someone in the middle of the day to play with no one watching doesn’t really feel like much of a tourney in the end.

im down hos. Ready to hold a fucker down and poot in his nostrils!

I want to really REALLY learn starcraft. seems like a really logical game I need something that will make me think. hmm where to start

Wait until SCII comes out. If you play online now you’ll only have a severe distaste from all the beating you’ll receive…

Seriously.

That’s actually kinda true. I don’t to discourage you from playing, but it’s really hard to find truly noob players to play with. Make a “noob 1v1” match on any server, and you’re pretty much guaranteed to get destroyed by whoever you play.

Same with all games got to get your ass kicked to get better just play until you face a decent american player and ask him he can mentor or goto US. EAST and goto clan x17 and ask someone there to point you in the right direction.

or if your REALLY BALLSY logon to asia server and play 1v1s or Iccup vs any D- player
