In other news I really want a CJ Entus uniform… D:
Some of the teams’ uniforms/jackets look pretty cool (HERO and Entus come to mind)… they really have come a long way from those hilarious space suits from back in the day. Too bad it’s so rare for the sponsors to actually sell them.
I can believe it, Flash has been an uninspired, 14CC into macro-mode Terran for the past month or so, and he obviously didn’t prepare at all for this series. ForGG isn’t just known for his macro, he’s also known for his brilliant timing attacks, and if Flash (and the KTF coaching staff) had prepared for this at all, maybe Flash wouldn’t have 14CC’d every game and lost to timing attacks.
Flash CAN be a brilliant, creative, hyperspeed-multitask player… but lately he’s just a Terran with crazy mechanics. That doesn’t cut it in the MSL semi-finals. forGG was smart and Flash was a kid who needs a summer break, and that was all the difference.
In any case, two points that are nice:
two macro beast Terrans in a Bo5 series but none of the games broke the 30 minute mark (did any even break the 20 minute mark?). Whole thing was done in like an hour and a half. I honestly thought we’d have one game last that long, lol.
all-Lecaf finals is pretty sweet, last time we had this was the Boxer-oov finals and that was epic as well. Hoping for this to turn out as crazy.
The Flash who mixed Stork up with crazy mindgames decided to take a break and become the Flash who 14CC’s every single game. Apparently he didn’t study replays/VODs or listen to any remarks about forGG, the TIMED ATTACKER, so he figured he might as well just keep doing 14CC every game. Even though he ALREADY lost to forGG in PL for being too greedy and not scouting forGG’s build/timing attack.
Meanwhile, forGG studied up and prepared builds for each game… and he scouted way better than Flash. 3 timing attacks later and Flash gets his much-needed vacation, and forGG goes on to the MSL finals.
Lesson that Flash needed to re-learn when he first started slipping up- you can be a cocky, twitchy-faced jerk all you want, if you don’t scout and play predictable all the time, someone is going to knock you down (cf. sAviOr, Bisu).
Also timing attack >>>> EVERYTHING?? lol but seriously, how do you fail to prepare for that.
Some might say this is karma for Flash’s triple cheese against Bisu. Not much of a karma kind of guy but it is ironic!
Anybody know what the current specs will be required to play this? I’m trying to be a new laptop but Alienware on the Dell site looks like they want to rape me for me…
Lmao yeah i think 16 mbs of RAM can run Starcraft. I dunno how much space you need but it’s from back in the days when having a 100 mb hard drive was a good amount.
Ok, I didn’t clarify which game. I guess I had that coming. I meant Starcraft 2. Just wondering if they released any info on what you will need to run it. I have Starcraft and Brood War, play that religiously
I would literally lol if Flash got BackHo’d. I don’t want it to happen, but it would be terribly funny.
In any case, forGG has apparently finally added some micro to his game, so if he puts up a convincing showing against Jaedong, forGG might develop into even more of a monster next season.
lol forGG has been one of my favorite Terrans (after Boxer, NaDa, and Hwasin) since the first time I saw him play; for a while he was that guy who could do so little with so many units… and still win just because he had THAT many units. And now he’s doing more and more with those units… if he keeps up his improvement in control, timing, game sense, etc. while keeping up the sick macro, nobody is even going to remember Flash a few months from now.
Of course he might just come crashing back to earth sooner rather than later, so who knows… Starcraft is a capricious mistress.
I wouldn’t go that far. He HAS come up with a build that counters the protoss quick tech to carriers. I was watching some videos back in the day and seriously carriers + goon support on a map like katrina was GG. If he wins maybe one more SL tournament, then he would be pretty much cemented as a great player that held his footing.
If not, then maybe we can file him under players like Casy(Ademas) =[
He came up with a build that doesn’t matter with this season’s maps not being super-carrier-friendly… and he even lost to Best doing 2base carrier rush this season lol.
Last season, TvP sucked because, in any given series, you would inevitably have to play on at least one of the following maps: Katrina, Blue Storm, Baekmagoji. All of them give pretty much a free 2nd gas, all of them have pretty big mains for easy drop harass, all of them favor Protoss’s mobility over Terran’s slow push (distance between mains and ease of flanking also really hurt Terran’s ability to timing push a FE 'toss).
Carriers aren’t usually as prominent as they were last season… blame the maps and blame Stork for standardizing 2base reaver drop -> carriers. The real strength to Flash’s double armory build is that it gives you early defense against reaver harass, which keeps you even/puts you ahead depending on how well you defend the harass, then puts you way ahead on upgrades so goons and interceptors (and carriers) melt when you get into a fight.
But yeah… this season, Flash hasn’t been showing off that kind of creativity and flair in his TvP, as far as I can tell. Really looked like he was content to get into macro slugfests.
well he made to 8 in pretty much every league he’s played in this season. You can’t really say he’s average i don’t think. You can say that an average player can beat him though. His aura of invincibility is completely gone. Next season will tell if he’s finished I think.
