Official Starcraft Thread

Flash should go down as the guy who said “hey goliaths are good 80% of the time, why wouldn’t you pop a few out early?” Seriously the fact that Ts just kept getting dropped all over without Gols was almost painful to watch.
Almost as painful as listening to people crying about carriers.

Sidenote Flash is however still undefeated in proleague vs. Zerg (maybe also in the SLs but I could be wrong).

And gogogogogogogo BackHo!

If he’s undefeated against Z in PL, he’ll stay that way because KTF isn’t in the playoffs lololol
Not like any team wanted to play Z’s in PL anyhow given how the maps favored T and P.

As for Starleagues… Luxury, OSL.

MA JAE YOON
Adrenal glands > CJ B team??

I can’t root for somebody who has a bowl cut. I hope flash just rapes backho

As opposed to defeating him in SC? :amazed:

Link to the Seashield Team Liquid attack torrent. Took only like 7 minutes to download a 400 mb file. Not bad.

Yeah I watch The TLAttack w/ Sea[Shield] it was so bad ass…no good players they had on TL team…Sea went against Cloud and got owned…Then he had a match w/ his coach…Over-all the dl torrent should be still good speed and its about 2hrs 59 mins long…Worth watching and those two guys have no respect who are talking…lucky that they get to talk to Sea…

The 2 guys talking definately didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing. Saying a lot of really unfunny things. Hopefully if they get more Koreans they’ll have some better stuff to say though. I can cut them slack with it being their first time and all.

Jaedong vs fOrGG MSL finals!!!

HYPE!!!

Shit is gonna be crazy, especially since they’re teammates. I predict 3-2 for Jaedong.

first game is getting pretty crazy, too bad I can’t stay up and watch/read all of it =/

first game was SICK

now I sleep and in my dreams I will wonder if Jaedong pulls a Jaedong and wins 3-1 =[
zzz

fOrGG is a fucking monster. Jesus. His dropships are broken. NERF PLZ

Also, fOrGG as #2 (maybe #1, above Flash) Terran right now?

EDIT: Okay I was way off. lulz 3-0 for… fOrGG.

looool 3-0 forGG, you can’t out-multi-task that many units!

Game 1 was great. I have to say though Jaedong didn’t really put up too much of a fight in the other 2 games. I don’t think ForGG’s economy was really even touched in either until more then half way through the games.

wow after watching game 1, I have to say that ForGG’s dropship and sci vessel control is horrible. But since his economy was never harassed he could afford to be wreckless

The results just make no sense…
Jaedong threw those games.
It’s the Lecaf agenda.

I wouldn’t be that surprised honestly. Jaedong basically didn’t harass ForGG at all. Really weak play by him BUT he hadn’t been playing that excellent in general to be honest. So that makes it sort of believable.

I don’t know why the hell people can’t get it through their heads - forGG is GOOD. Like, REALLY REALLY GOOD. If you’ve ever watched forGG from before this season, you knew that he would be a beast if he could add just a little finesse to his already incredible macro… and he’s done more than that. He actually kinda micros now, and his macro hasn’t slipped at all. Sure, he has lapses where he just lets his entire vessel cloud die, but that’s probably because he’s busy building twice as many vessels (and he already got his irradiates off so shruuuug). Unit control isn’t everything. forGG’s macro, timing, preparation, game sense… all of that has added up to be enough to compete with and beat the top pro-gamers, and he can do standard micro stuff now when the situation calls for it. He has the potential to be a better iloveoov (his macro is better in terms of pure unit production)… only time will tell if he can follow up this MSL win with bigger and better things.

But yeah… you simply don’t throw away MSL finals games. Jaedong didn’t even play that badly- he just played like he usually does and, as expected (if you know anything about forGG), he got punished hard for it. He changed it up with the sunken rush, kinda… but every game was fast spire -> mutas into fast hive. Blame sAviOr for the fast hive style ZvT trend if you want, Jaedong had his chance to mix things up and he didn’t… he didn’t make the same kind of immediately stupid mistake that Flash did (fast expo every game, bad scouting) but he made his own kind of mistake (fast tech every game, fast spire -> mutas every game).

Game 1, sunken rush put him behind and then forGG found and killed his spire (and evo chamber, note forGG’s upgrade advantage for the entire game); Jaedong has like 5 mutas at most to try to stall a huge ball of MnM that is already killing his expos. The queen’s nest and hive went up shortly after this (or before?)- Jaedong falls behind in economy and unit count to try to catch up on tech/upgrades, except he never really does, he gets dropped on a bunch of times, his army size never matches the size of forGG’s reinforcement waves (much less forGG’s actual army), and then he loses. You can’t really harass in that situation, not without falling further behind than you already are. By the time Jaedong could have maybe started harassing, forGG’s unit production was at the point where he would be facing two armies at the same time and both of those armies would be bigger than his entire army.
Game 2, Jaedong has to build a bunch of lings and threaten a run-by to keep the Sync-style sunken break from happening, stalls long enough for mutas to come out… but by then, forGG has +1 weapons and a billion turrets around his base. Mutas have to retreat, Jaedong is bleeding mutas the entire game to try to keep the push at home; lurkers kinda help except forGG has +1 armor by that point. One sweet marine spread later and Jaedong’s first lurkers are dead, mutas and lings keep melting to +1(2?) weapons, Jaedong’s has fast hive AGAIN but he can’t stall forGG’s army with muta/ling, a vessel and two tanks handle the lurkers (defiler den is finishing right around now), forGG defends against a pincer attack or two pretty well, adds more MnM and tanks, pushes into the nat, siege finishes and puts Jaedong behind on bases and down 0-2 in the series.

Game 3, once again Jaedong just can’t cause enough damage with lings, mutas once again arrive just in time to meet +1 weapons and a billion turrets… Jaedong does a bit with a ling run-by attempt but it doesn’t quite pan out, forGG’s army gets way too big to hold off, he just plain overwhelms lurkers with more MnM than the lurkers can kill, reinforcements pour in and Jaedong only has 1 defiler to try to save his base against MnM + firebats + tanks.

forGG just outplayed Jaedong, and yeah Jaedong didn’t seem on top of his game, but he wasn’t playing badly, either. Crazy mechanics and multitask were still there, it just didn’t matter because forGG forced everything to 1-2 points of conflict that actually mattered and steamrolled Jaedong with superior macro.

Man that’s a long post defending ForGG lol. I fyou look at the matches though. Jaedong doesn’t harras ForGG’s econmy a single time. These matches could have been very easily fixed. Also in an interview with ForGG he was making a big deal about there not having been a champion from Lecaf who was a Terran. Makes those matches very questionable IMO. I’m not saying they were 100% fake or anything, but it’s impossible to ignore the signs that it could’ve been potentially rigged.

Jaedong would have harassed more if he could. I don’t know about you, but if I only had 5 mutas that were capable of “harassing” forGG’s walled off base and I had MnM running rampant at my expo that is also my lair, I think I would choose to save my lair rather than kill like 2 SCVs for all my mutas, my lair, and any hope of winning the game.
And then, once again… game 2, forGG’s 2rax opening, fast e-bay into +1 weapons + turrets means you can’t harass that safely. Jaedong knows this and doesn’t waste his mutas, opting to save them to pick off the Terran ball if it ventures out of the base- way more important to keep the push stuck in the Terran’s base at that point, since you aren’t going to score more economic damage than you will lose for wasting your mutas and then having the MnM group free to plow into your natural.
Game 3, Jaedong attempts a ling harass that kills forGG’s initial marines but forGG’s macro kicks in and makes up for those minor losses, and again +1 weapons and turrets prevent the mutas from doing anything but pick off a few marines and delay the inevitable push. +1 armor finishes in time to deal with lurkers.

It’s hard enough to muta harass bases that don’t have empty spaces and cliffs for you to just fly around and do whatever; given that forGG never really went beyond 2-3 bases until Jaedong was stuck just trying to survive (actually all the attempted muta harass happened when forGG had at most 2 bases), it would be really hard to make anything worthwhile happen. 1-2 SCVs for your only mutas is not a good trade.

This season’s maps aren’t too great for ZvT. Terrans can defend their bases more easily, and more than that, Terrans have been smarter about handling the inevitable muta harass by throwing up 5-10 turrets around their base like, every game… so you can’t really score big damage with them without making something else happen earlier. Doesn’t help that Jaedong’s ZvT is 99% fast spire -> muta -> optional lurker -> fast hive these days, which plays right into forGG’s scheming ways.

I have to rewatch the last 2 games but in game 1 Jaedong made mutas 1 to 2 minutes after his spire had finished and even then he only made like 5. He played really badly all around. Again I need to rewatch the games but that’s something i remember specifically from the first is that his timing was incredibly off. Also putting your lair and evolution chambers at such a far off location is simply asking for them to get killed. Really foolish move.
