Blizzard opens beta test opt-in for Starcraft II

We don’t have to tell you how big a deal Starcraft II is. In the next few months, Blizzard will be ironing out the kinks through a beta test period for the RTS sequel, and right now you can try to get in on that action.

So, here’s what you need to do:

Go into your Battle.net account management area (specifically the Beta Profile Settings page), where you will be able to sign up for beta opt-in status for Starcraft II

Upload a screenshot of your system specs (as directed)

It’s a pretty easy process, but know that if you’ve already set up your beta opt-in status on Battle.net before, it does not apply here. You have to manually go in and do it again specifically for Starcraft II. We know it’s a pain, but for Starcraft II, we’re sure you’ll manage.

It not that hard to get into beta if you just lie your ass off. Say you have beta tested before and experience with xxx games. Take specs off a high notch computer and pass it as your own. :tup:

I mostly watch the Korean guys play but from the little that I do play. Man…Terran is a lot of stress on the APM. I believe i’ve heard before it takes the quickest hands to pull off correctly. Them being really weak early also hurts.

Theory talk: Is there ever a point where apm becomes too much? As in, the players apm is so high it can distract from his focus and performance in the game?

TvZ is probably the most micro intensive matchup in SC. I agree with you sir!

What I mean is if you’re going to fast for your mind to keep up then essentially all you’re doing is mashing. You don’t really have a particular goal with it and it means nothing except that you can mash buttons fast. It’s essentially the same as a typing test. If you typed 100 words per minute but 50% of the words had errors then you don’t really type 100 wpm. You can just mash keys at a 100 wpm rate.

It’s kind of like MvC2. Outsiders will be like OMGZ SO FAST, but people who are used to the game see it as it is.
