Official Starcraft Thread

Man i just got around to watching the Winner’s league finals on Violetak’s account. Great games there. I suggest everyone watch the entire series.

There’s a link to game 1.

GREAT series

wow wow wow

Jaedong vs Fantasy series. Do yourself a favor and watch, games are unbelievable. :>

Like the korean commentators said,

Jaedong equals a god.

<3

Jaedong was soooooooo close to losing the 4th match…wow.

It’s about processing speed though. Women may multi-task and recognize things faster, but I do believe men have faster reaction speeds. Truth though is that Tossgirl is a dominant force among the females, but as soon as the female leagues shut down she and other female pro-gamers joined the male leagues where all of them but Tossgirl retired. Nothing against women though, they can be good, but what female has made a huge impact skill wise in any video game? No excuses, both males and females have the same amount of time to invest in a game, but when you reach the upper echelons of a game, men just tend to leap up higher than females.

Plus APM isn’t an issue, it’s a lot of other things. Tossgirl’s APM is like 350+ and that’s higher than some high profile male players, but she still can’t win because of decision making. Women might be better at multi-tasking, but can they keep track of and make the right decision in each of the different tasks?

P.S. Jaedong 5 pool ;_;

edit: Also for those interested in the ESWC tournament for Starcraft where basically every region competes (ie. North America, China, Korea, etc) against each other and then later the winners of each major scene will compete against each other: http://scforall.com/sctv/sc_tv01.asp?mNum=s01 (Tournament tab)

Women are not as good as men at Starcraft in the same way that they are not as good as men at chess.

Awesome series at the latest Avertec Intel Classic. Most of the games thus far have been a bit sloppy. But the Never (terran) vs. Shuttle (protoss) series was epic. One of my faves.

Shuttle starts with a proxy gateway. Never doesn’t spot it. Can he survive?

Game 2 and 3 are really good too. Really high level StarCraft play.

They have English commentary too :3

haver, we’ve watched season 1, season 2 and the invitational.

Yeah, lots of lukers in this thread.

Damn, Neo Medusa just seems to rape Protoss with a buildable center.
Also what the fuck Free, how you let him sunken block you wtf?!?!?!

Jae still beasting in Shinhan proleague.
Bisu beasted all star PvT but lost to Saviour in PvZ.

Hiya is gg in TvP.

I haven’t followed SC in awhile for those were some interesting games.

I thought I’d give this thread a bump with OSL qualifiers beginning. Anyone following anything lately?

Here’s the list of who qualified for the Bacchus Ro36: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=91963

Pretty shitty results :frowning:

that’s the offline stuff. The big names are already seeded in the meaningful tournament.

I dunno, Stork style proxy robo hijinks seem to work really well on Neo Medusa as well. Obviously buildable center benefits Terran more than Protoss, but Protoss can abuse it as well (just they aren’t doing so, zzz).

Yeah, but I’m just sad almost none of the old guard made it in.

Boxer, Yellow, Nada, and Savior all lost :frowning:

I wouldn’t say neo-medusa rapes protoss. More like it no longer rapes terran.

Casy and Canata are kinda old school :looney: If SAVIOR is old school (lol) then those guys are old school.

Anyone playing iCCup, and if so, rank?
