Can Akuma cross up with his air hadouken?

No doesnt look like he can perform any normals after a fireball, I hate how it pushes it forward it makes that corner trap throw loop. Push backward would be fairer.

No, he means can the fb itself crossup and I think the answer is yes if I’m seeing Akuma vs Deejay 2 correctly.

As seen at the end of this vid, it can cross up and follow up when done probably with a tiger knee motion. It seems pretty specific, so I don’t foresee any shenanigans with it:

well it looks like vega’s claw dive doesnt knock down anymore, which is sorta a good thing.

however, it seems the opponent can super you back after trading hits if they have a quick enough move. i really hope this is not the case.

any word on it being comboable or not after it hits?

i wish they redid akuma’s voice instead of using giefs voice when doing the hurricane kicks.

Ya, that is kinda wacky.

Yeah - it would suck for us Vega players to have to actually think when doing a move. Now we have to pay attention to the opponents super meter and stuff…

So now that we know for sure that walldives don’t knock down, how do you think it changes Vega? Is it enough to drop him from top tier? It at least appears that it’s pretty easy to retaliate now. It seems like that’s why they added in the fall dive - so Vega could catch people trying to stuff him.

No more 50/50 wall dive loop seems like a pretty major change to me.

Akiba’s old matchup chart, which includes every new and old character, lists O Claw as being the 6th best playable character in the whole game despite both his lack of flipkick and the fact that his wall dives sucked opponents in in some situations, which often made them unsafe on block and therefore stupid to throw out all the time. Vega’s real strengths are in his normals and speed, his stupid wall dive nonsense is just the unnecessary icing on the cake (and in my opinion his flipkick is just the cake’s unnecessary too-much-frosting). R Vega will presumably still have flipkick and his wall dives presumably won’t be unsafe on block; he’s gonna be just fine.

You mean his charge flipkick, I guess? I hate eating two of those on a jump-in. I guess if he’s that good even without it the fake is there for the sake of giving him something “new/fun”. Like what Sirlin said he did with Chun’s Spinning Bird Kick.

vega is top tier in st even without the wall dive. hes super strong without it

cool, i’ll have to give the game another go tomorrow since i now have a hori stick, and the ken bs is fixed. hopefully the netcode is much improved as well.

well now that it’s fixed i’ma finally buy a 360 hori stick. sucks playing on that thing they call a controller
