Yeah I agree. I mean, in the words of the Hoff, there’s only two things that can happen here; hearts will be broken and dreams will be made. I can gather that this is possibly one HELL of an expensive venture and sure, redrawing ST might be enough. But with a golden oppertunity as this one to release a brand new SFII, should be treated with extreme care, as if they mess it up, hearts will be broken and I’m sure that includes Sirlin.
Personally I think they went one step too far by changing juggle properties of a character and so forth, even though it’s mostly gone. I just feel that a few small things would have been enough to sattisfy the crowds, instead of trying to go all out and making a big mess, out of a game that’s already quite messed up to begin with. Ken doesn’t need insane juggles, Dee Jay doesn’t need easy stun combos, Akuma doesn’t need to be there etc. If they want to do all this stuff and have it turn out a success then yeah, they need to let the players get more involved.
If I remember correctly, they never intended to give Ken insane juggles in the first place. It was just a side effect of ensuring that each hit of his dragon punches lands consistently, instead of randomly not hitting and leaving Ken open to retaliation.
having reversals come out consistently, as they have already done, and perhaps opening up the window to 2 frames of input would nullify all throw loops. The only reason people do it is because they go in under the assumption that there opponent will miss their reversal. This should be thought of as an alternative to nerfing the loops themselves. Will also need to give dic a good reversal for this method to work. Like maybe having his devil’s reverse invincible on the way up so that he can with a reversal fly away from throw loops / 360 obliteration in the corners.
Hell yeh, don’t think it would take too much effort just to load the new character attributes to the original minus the HD graphics. If they did that and said art is still taking awhile I can forgive atleast we will have something worthwhile!
Yeah this is what I’m getting at. It doesn’t have to be tournament players, but a respected player within the community (those who have been making videos for years even) would certainly do a better job than most. Which is why I honestly think they need to get the current roster we’ve been playing out on XBL, instead of sticking to Ryu and Ken. It’s pretty obvious by now that there is a hell of a lot to play test and can the guys behind doors really do it all on their own? Up untill now, it appears not which is why I think they should give us more to play with…
Edit: Or perhaps two completely different characters all together at the least…
I’m actually having a pretty hard time doing reversals consistently, but I think that’s mostly because of the crappy net code. Definitely wouldn’t want 2 frame reversals.
wiffing a reversal, no matter the strength, usually means you are screwed.
ultra: when the connection is decent to good. i rarely miss reversals. the mere fact that dp input is more consistent and a little easier, skyrockets the reversal success rate, IMO
