yeah but you just mentioned ryu’s fake fireball in that context. So I responded.
Te be honest I consider ken’s fierce dp to be a new move because of it’s new properties and the new ways it will be used. hawk’s whiff and dive, akuma’s air fireball etc, etc…
Just when you thought Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix had pushed the awesomeness needle into the dangerously red territory, it goes ahead and decides to reveal some additional awesomeness.
SF HD Remix: Fan-inspired, fan-drawn, fan-tested (it even has fan-chosen achievements), and it also has a new fan-composed soundtrack!
Head over to Ars Technica to hear about how Capcom tapped our favorites from the OCRemix crew to put their unique stamp on the classic Street Fighter themes burned into our brains
you can download the remixes here at : http://tinyurl.com/2jkk3v
just download it with utorrent…and make sure
only the “Street fighter” and “super street fighter” mp3s are selected…
b/c if you select all it is over 3gb…
the file name is :
OverClocked ReMix: OCR00001 to OCR01000
OverClocked ReMix: OCR01001 to OCR01700
Yeah, that is a bit crazy, never would of thought that Capcom would have even considered this. Seems like it would go beyond the scope of the project unless they used current animations. I mean if they can’t make new moves, how they going to make new characters?
Would be some crazy shit if after all these delays, the game comes out with brand new characters, lol.
They could take sprites from A3/3s, scale them up or down if need be and then give them the HD treatment(and remove some frames of animation for 3s sprites). I’m all for it if the game gets patched to fix any imbalances in the newbs.
kens flame effects look really nice, i think of lot of people here are out of touch with what non die hard fans think looks nice. I played the demo with 2 people who haven’t played sf in years and they thought it looked great fireball trails and all. My favourite fireball effects are still KI!
Thanks for clearing that up for me crackbone! If thats the case its a shame theres no other existing sprite to use that doesn’t look stupid. Shame Sirlin never got back to me or the other ten or so people that thought a compromised speed setting would be a good idea to retain the balance for his ‘tweaked’ moves if speed 2 is too slow.
I really think they need to refine this into just like a “Street Fighter HD” and it could be an open platform that will eventually house the whole SF universe. I know that would be massive and probably end up largely unbalanced but it would make capcom a ton of money and fans would love it. You all know you would pay $10 for like “SF1 Character Pack 1” “SFA2 Stage Pack 2” etc. etc.
New characters in SFHD would be awesome, although if it happened you could probably throw balance out the window (4 new characters would mean 70+ new matchups to test).
I doubt something like that’s going to happen though unless SFHD smashes records for XBLA sales.
Don’t know about SF1 characters, would of liked that for SFIV. There are a few from the alpha series I’d love to see though, Adon, Guy and Cody. Q from SF3
I’m also interested to see how characters would play after being translated into ST-style. Some things that were vital to the character competing may be removed/nerfed and unexpected things buffed up. Like Ibuki. All of her target chains would(should) be removed and her dp+K could be removed(so she wouldn’t be as good on defense since she’d be a beast on the offense). But her rdp+K could travel quicker and her Kunai could have less start up. Qcb+K may be turned into a rekka command, made safe on block and the low ender taken out. Hcb+P could become an actual command grab but not come out instantly(3 frames of startup). Her command dash would be hot in HDR.
They’d probably have some trouble animating her command grab since it interacts with the opponent sprite heavily(she lifts the opponent’s arm).
They could start off with something really simple…
For old time’s sake they could put in the World Warrior versions of the 4 bosses; all they would have to do is create a 2nd copy of the characters (Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M.Bison) and change their coding accordingly to match their WW coding. Hell, they can probably just copy & paste the coding from WW straight into HD Remix.
The bosses in WW naturally had a lesser number of sprites than in SSF2, so the sprites required already exists, so no problems there.
